I honestly believe the season is over if we lose.

Probably not a popular opinion, but I think we can officially start looking ahead to April if we blow this one.

Not popular???
Nothin to do with it, it's called you're CRAZY is all.
The SEASON IS OVER if we lose???? LOL
Could be the funniest thing I ever heard in my life.
If you think ONE LOSS today we can officially start looking toward the draft, you obviously have no clue about football and how it works.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound harsh or get your case, but come on, the season if officially over if we lose today????
So, what if we win today and lose next week, is it over then too???
What if we win today and next week but lose to the Giants, is the season over then too??
I think you get my point, a loss is just that, a loss, and the season is not over my any remote chance at all, NOT EVEN CLOSE!
We could lose our next 3 games in a ROW and our season still wouldn't be over, you people need to get a grip on how the NFL works, cause you guys sound like Giants fans last year at this time saying how you need to find yourselves a new head coach, need to drop the Eli experiment and the season is over, and we all know what happened there, but this isn't even in the same ballpark as that, it's just one game where we g a lot of injuries and mainly our starting Q.B. is out, so if we lose 2 of the next 3 then get Felix and Romo back, we'll be just fine IMO, although I think we're still so talented we'll win today anyway, a loss is not that big of a deal.

Dude, I think you need to come to grips with reality here.

Are we still technically "alive" if we lose...sure

But after 3 games in a row with the way we've played, another conference loss today to a terrible Rams team would be further proof that this is just a mediocre football team and nothing more. You can pretty much take it to the bank, if we lose today its over for 2008. Even with Romo out there, we're pretty close to being 2-4. At some point the lightbulb has to go on for the coaches and players to start playing good football. This year was supposed to be different for them, remember? So far, it isnt.

I don't care how close we were to being 2-4. The FACT is we're 4-2.

Even you said it yourself in your OP. If we lose, then we have TB, NYG and WAS. Are you ready to give up on those games if we lose today, with us likely getting Romo and Felix back, and possibly Kosier and TNew sometime in that stretch? Each of those games will be bigger than this one.

Being a chicken little doesn't become you.

Quit with the chicken little b/s. It's called being realistic.

If we cant beat teams like the Rams and Cardinals, and nearly lose to teams like the winless bengals with a QB starting that has a blown up arm, do you HONESTLY believe we're beating good teams like Tampa, New York and Washington???? (who already beat us, in our place)

We should win this game. If we cant then we deserve whats going to happen.

O.K. I'm back now!
If we lose today without our best cover corner Terence Newman, without Felix Jones, without a bunch of other key players, and without our starting Pro-Bowl Q.B. who leads our team, that PROVES we are a mediocre team and nothing more??
If we lose today it means one thing, We lost ONE GAME with a lot of key players injured, THAT'S IT!!!

4-3 and the SEASON IS OFFICIALLY OVER IN YOUR MIND! LOL
WOW I met some dumb fans in my day, but you take the cake, unless you're a closet Eagles fan on thissite PRETENDING to be a cowboys fan, that's the only thi that would make sense as to what you're trying to say.
Like I said in my original post, if you think the season is over cause of ONE LOSS today, then CLEARLY you don't know how the game of football works and are not worth anymore of my time, although you did give me a good laugh, although you do ge a lot of cowboys fans a bad name for this logic or LACK of logic on this game!

4-3 and the SEASON IS OVER!
WOW, like someone once said, it's better to be thought of as the town idiot then to open your mouth and PROVE IT!

Soemone else that cant see the forest for the trees.

If we were 6-0 and came in, blew the games to the Rams that'd be one thing.

Hell if we were 4-2 and had played "good" football and only lost due to injuries or flukes, and then also lost this game that'd also be something different.

We're playing like crap. We played like crap vs Washington. We played like crap vs Cinci. We played like crap last week vs Arizona.

If you HONESTLY believe with the way this team is playing, that if we lose today we're going to somehow turn around the season and start rolling then fine, but I've got a ton of ocean front property in Arizona for you. Please contact me so we can work out a deal.

Is it POSSIBLE we could turn around after falling to 4-3 and be a good team? Yeah, POSSIBLY. But with the body of evidence we have to date its HIGHLY UNLIKELY.

HIGHLY UNLIKELY???
How about HIGHLY LIKLEY????
We got INJURIES BUDDY, not just SOME INJURIES, a TON OF INJURIES!
Once we get everybody back healthy, we're gonna steamrolll by everyone.
To say the SEASON IS OVER if we lose today, you know what??
I'ne with you, I can't discuss LOGIC and COMMON SENSE with someone who says if we lose today with al our key injuries but would still be 4-3, our SEASON IS OVER?
I can no longer argue with STUPIDITY!

It's realistic to call a 4-3 team done for the season? It's realistic to believe we have no shot to beat Tampa, NYG and WAS.

The NFL is a week to week league. We smoked Cleveland and they smoked the Giants. Is the Giants' season over too?

And it's completely chicken little to declare the season over at 4-3. There is no realistic element to it. There are 4 teams who have better records than us in the league!! FOUR!! Yet we're the only team in the NFL, who has a win, who has a must win this week apparently.

Here are the teams who have better records than us:

Buffalo who got obliterated by the same Cardinals team we lost to in OT.
The aforementioned Giants who like I said, got smoked by Cleveland.
Pittsburgh, who scored 6 in a loss to a Philly team we put 41 up on.
And the Titans... the only undefeated team in the league. I seriously doubt that you would think they were better than us when healthy.

I'm sorry. Any "OMG-the-season-is-over-if-we-don't-win-this-next-game" thread at this point in a 4-2 season is the epitome of chicken little. Maybe you don't know the meaning of "chicken little," or maybe you've never heard the story. I typically like and agree with what you have to say as a poster, but you're dead wrong here, and there's no denying it.

Absolute must win tomorrow. We've already got 2 conference losses and the Rams are a lousy team we should beat regardless of who plays QB.

I dont care how they win tomorrow, but they just gotta win this game. Even if its 6-3 or 31-30...I honestly believe the season is over if we lose.

Tampa's gonna be tough for us next week, especially if Romo doesnt play. Then its at NYG...then bye, then at Washington. We cant afford another loss to a team we're supposed to beat, especially since it'd be a tie breaking killer 3rd conference loss in just 7 weeks.

Probably not a popular opinion, but I think we can officially start looking ahead to April if we blow this one.

I can see what you're saying here and I agree.

And this isn't simply 'one game' he's referring to, but a dangerous pattern over the last month. Losing to the Rams would simply illustrate the pattern of failure more clearly.

People are using injuries as an excuse, but the fact is that the team hasn't been playing well when those guys were healthy.

If this team manages to pull out a loss against the lowly Rams, it will clearly show how far they've fallen and what a terrible job Phillips and Co have done with the talent Jones has acquired.

dbair dbair dbair.....whats with all the panic all of the sudden? we lose to the Rams and we should start looking at April? wheres the faith? hey we played a very physical game with the Cards last week, a game i felt we shouldve won going into, i think this team will rebound and if anything last weeks game will do alot of good for us down the road.

with all the injuries and having to play on the road, i could accept a loss (if we lose) to the Rams. but once this team gets healthy again i feel like we will start stringing some W's.:starspin

the problem with some of you is you are wanting to blame injuries for the way the team is playing...Romo hasnt missed a game until today. Is Kyle Kosier THAT important to the OL that it totally collapses and looks like garbage for 3 weeks? After all, Proctor started the first two games and Romo was hardly touched. Newman is a big loss, but we supposedly covered ourselves with Pac Trash, Mike Jenkins and Scandrick being here instead of Jacque Reeves and Nate Jones. Felix Jones hadnt missed anytime before this week (other than the coaching staff stupidly not playing him vs Wash). Roy Williams has been hurt, but the vast majority always say thats a good thing if he isnt out there.

Like Stash said...this isnt a one game thing. We've stunk most of the season, and especially the last 3 games. I can buy coming out flat vs Washington, sleep walking through it and losing after beating Cleveland, Philly and Green Bay, but how do you explain not coming out and bashing a horrible Cinci team at home playing with an injured QB? After sucking that week, why play so poorly at Arizona, a team that had given up 56 pts and 6 tds passes just two weeks before?

Something isnt right with this team. They were expected to be better than this. The goal wasnt to sleep through the season and then sneak in the playoffs. They dont block well. They dont tackle well. They are careless with the football. The special teams are horrible.

I haven't said that there aren't issues with this team that need to be fixed. I know that there are. No one's denying that.

That's not the point of your thread. You're trying to decry this a must win game, the biggest game of the year. It's not, and it's not close.

Yeah we need to fix some things, but there's plenty of time to do that. And it's unrealistic to expect all of our issues to be fixed today, especially with some of our key guys out today.

I think your problem is that you -- and others -- expected this team to win the Super Bowl in September and October. You ate the cheese that all the media attention and predictions brought. We can't win the Super Bowl now. What we have to do now is identify our deficiencies and fix them so that we can win the Super Bowl in December through February. I'm glad we're seeing our issues now rather than in December. Hopefully now we'll have time to fix them.

would 3 losses inside the NFC after 7 weeks help us make the playoffs? No, this is the kind of game you have to win. Especially when you are playing a very bad team after playing so poorly yourself for weeks.

I am not sure any of the issues can be fixed this year. They werent right in TC or preseason either.

I think your problem is that you -- and others -- expected this team to win the Super Bowl in September and October.

you are absolutely wrong with this. It's the product on the field, the WAY we are playing. There is no sense of urgency. There is no consistency.

how do you fix bad special teams play? how do you fix bad tackling? There are some things scheme wise which can be corrected, but how do you fix lack of effort and lack on intensity?
