Rumors:

* Sounds like the Cowboys are trying to get Lber coach from SD. Dont know if that would work out.

* All Def coaches might be staying.

Eatman says the reason Romo isnt in the probowl is because of the fans. They just dont like him. Dallas has more fans than any team. He should be in the probowl with votes.

* Players gone:
Spencer - gone
Victor Butler - gone, theres no spot for him. Brings minimal production
Kyle Wilber - didnt get to see alot of him. Didnt work at ILB. Could get left behind with the switch to the outside. Looks like a OLB.

*How do Ware/Spencer fit in 4-3 DE:
Most of the DE's around the league players that are in the upper tier DEs between 265-280lbs.

Can you ask Ware to get bigger and stay at the same speed at his age? They say he has a big frame so he could probably do it. 10-12lbs will do it for him.

* On Caller about drafting RB early.
Never draft a RB anymore early. 3-4 round would be best in todays new nfl unless their elite.

* Which two players would u keep.

Free
Austin
Ratliff
Spencer

Derek makes a good point on Austin. Romo has made average players look good. Brings up Laurent Robinson.

* Biggest relief on the cap with restructuring and releases.

Carr - you save 10 mil restructure.
Free - cut you save 7 mil.
Austin - cut you save 4-5 mil.
Connor - you save 4.
Romo - save 5-6 mil restructure.

Jerry wants to win so its a good idea to restructure Romo.

* Caller on trading down for more picks to stack up on needs.

You dont know what ur going to do until draft day.

* Who manages the cap? Stephen Jones is really good with the cap.

* Serviceable safety recent but can you get a playmaking safety?

They say no, not in the draft, and cant afford one in FA. They say safetys play isnt long. Say Earl Thomas Has probably 2 yrs left at his level of play.

Dallas likes Church and Johnson.

Barry Church is combine slow, but on the field he is fast enough. Never a play where he couldnt get to where he was supposed to be.

Breaking news: Eagles sign Chip Kelly Oregon coach.

* Who do they see in OC? Why is Callahan getting a pass? OL got worse

Callahan has done it before. Had success before. They give him better players you will be better. Callahan wanted to move to Parnell earlier in the yr. No talk on bringing anybody in.

* On Mack moving to C?
Costa was really good when he played. Mack you keep at Guard and Costa let stay at C. Could draft a guy that can play either spot.

* Backup LBers
Not a whole lot of backup Lbers you need for this team on the roster.

* Spencers Market value:
Depends on what teams think of his value aswell. If you didnt think he was a good sign for 4-5 mil last yr, sure not worth 10 mil a yr now.

* Caller about if you could trade Ware for a 1 and a 3?
Would be a huge hole without Ware. Big hit on the cap this yr.

The longer you can play with these players with bigger contracts the better. They bring up Austin and Ratliff. If you can play them another yr would save alot more to release a yr after.

* Garrett has to make playoffs this yr or he's gone.

I am so confused about Parnell and who to believe here. Is he developing? Is he going to get a shot at the RT spot? or are they going to part ways?

Someone needs to look at the rosters of 4-3 teams because with the exceptions of Williams and Peppers the elite 4-3 rush ends are between 250 and 270.

Hopefully alot of that is speculation, like the part about the safties and stripping the roster of most of the LB depth.

This is ridiculous, Earl Thomas is 23 years old. How do 'they' determine he has just 2 years left at this level of play :laugh2:

Nick Eatman is 10% good stuff he gets by keeping his ears open around the Ranch, and 90% laughable notions concocted inside his own head.

Probably using the RW example. Strange he couldnt play anymore after Woody retired, but yes it is laughable.

So, who blocked Callahan from moving to Parnell earlier? Was it JJ or Garrett? It had to be one or the other.

Charles Johnson CAR 12.5 sacks 6'2 285
Jared Allen MIN 12 sacks 6'6 270
Julius Peppers CHI 11.5 sacks 6'7 285
Chris Clemons SEA 11.5 sacks 6'3 254
Chris Long STL 11.5 sacks 6'3 270
Michael Johnson CIN 11.5 sacks 6'5 270
Elvis Dummervile DEN 11 sacks 5'11 260
Greg Hardy CAR 11 sacks 6'4 290
Mario Williams BUF 10 sacks 6'6 292
Robert Quinn STL 10.5 sacks 6'4 264

So yeah theyre basically right. Ware right now is 254. He needs about 10-12 lbs.

Yeah, if they did say that, they sound pretty dumb. Safeties usually last longer than CBs do, and they have invested a boatload in CBs. Sure Roy didn't, but that was just cause the game passed him by, VR needs to get over Roy big time.

The most interesting part of the show today was learning Dallas really dont have any names right now on who would come in to take over play-calling. Looks like its either going to be Callahan or Garrett from how they sounded

Earl has the best secondary in the nfl too. Noway will they be able to afford to keep them all together. Not with Most of the core of their teams contracts coming up at the same time. Remember rookie contracts are now only 4 yrs as of last yr. They're going to lose some players. Trust.

Thomas FA in 2 yrs
Shead Fa in 2 yrs
Chancellor FA in 1 yr
Sherman in 2 yrs

Wilson in 3

Hell most of their team will be free agents between '14-'16. They have a small window for success with todays cap.

Thanks for posting the summary, LatinMind. That tidbit about Callahan wanting Parnell earlier in the year was really interesting...it sure doesn't jibe with what Broaddus was supposedly speculating about earlier in the week, that Parnell would be gone.

I think people here expect people to post word for word. And basically they were talking about if there were changes what could they see happening. Just throwing out ideas and scenarios. They didnt mean in absolutes. And people here on this forum seems like they feel the need to nit pick instead of just take the info as all media opinions are. Speculation.

Broaddus i know doesnt feel Dallas will keep Free he's been on twitter since the end of the season saying he sees Free gone.

Me personally i would like to see Parnell and Free both gone and bring in somebody else.

Yeah its real hard to keep a team together in this era, only thing that can be done is drafting well year after year to try to replace some of the players you lose. Our period of 06-09 still haunts us cause we just added very little talent during that time, and there is noway you can go that length of time without adding talent and expect to be a good team.

Seattle doesn't seem like the type of team that will hand out those huge contracts unless they are winning big time. Should be interesting to see if their safeties hit free agency, while I don't think we would be in the market to spend that much money on the position, it would be nice to at least have the option with the huge number of needs we have at the moment.

Thats why i think its a good idea to keep Austin and Ratliff atleast for another yr. Sure it might limit what u can do in 2013 but it opens up alot of extra money going forward. Especially in Ratliffs case

Latin as of late Broaddus feels Free is staying.
