Caught this late but this is what was talked about when i tuned in.

* Cowboys have thought about signing players. But dont want to take away from development of younger players on the team.

* Caller: 2 concerns OL and DL
The way the draft played out Cowboys were looking at Cooper and Warmack. Floyd being there tells you they didnt want him.

* BW Webb isnt being noticed. Did some nice things in OTA but not much since. Got drilled by coach and had to stay after practice.

* Bruce Carter the most impressive player to watch on def so far.

* Love watching Sean Lee and how vocal he is out on the field. True leader.

* IN-game adjustments...
That leads to questioning on wether Cowboys didnt make adjustments at halftime, or was the team not prepared well enough during the week?

* Situation where Romo and Witten wanted a certain play called for the longest time and finally got called in the Commanders game and was a 35 yr td to Witten over the middle.

That last part about Romo and Witten is crazy. Why should they have to fight that hard for anything?

I really hope Carter and Lee can stay healthy, they are vital to this defense.

Romo and Witten have been here long enough to just go out and audible to their play if that is what they are feeling. What's Garrett going to do? Punish them?:) Sit them out a play? A week?

Agreed, it smells like BS.

Because Romo was lost out there. I recall watching a clip on that game and Callahan ask Romo what do you see out there? Romo replied he didn't know. So if your qb can't read the defense why would you accept his input on any offensive adjustments ???

Quietly (he never takes issue to the press) that has been one of Romos biggest complaints.
He thinks the offense has way more potential than it has shown in part due to lack of flexibilty in the play calling and game planning.

And that previous comment by lostar that he cannot read defenses is one of the less informed statements that I've seen on this site in a long, long time.

And yes, you can audible out of a play, but normally they have a set of plays for that given the personal package on the field. If the play they want is not in there, they probabaly will not make the switch.
I suspect they will have much more leeway with that this year--and they have been wanting it for awhile.

That game, was he lost on the other 15? I just find it hard to believe JG would just be stubborn and shut two vets down like that. Or that Romo wouldn't just call the play and deal with Garrett afterwards.

I'm listening to the first part. Most of them think the run game will be a lot better this year.

Webb is interesting, we need him to contribute this year, hopefully he turns this around. As a rookie corner, its hard to standout this early against the guys we have at WR though. The starters are having problems with them, so really can't fault Webb for that cause it is probably one of the hardest positions to play in the NFL with the rules the way they are.

We probably won't see him shine until he plays the slot in preseason.

Yeah, we really need some contribution from Webb cause last time we had injuries in the CB position, we had to draw people off the street.

It would be huge to actually have someone who can play the position riding the pine for cheap.

Webb looked lost in the Senior Bowl practices that I watched. These were the same practices where Wilcox was terrific.

So we're expecting big things from our 4th/5th corner these days in the first year ?..

Webb could end up on the PS. He wont even beat out Sterlin Moore IMO. BW shined vs other rookies, but he's playing against nfl proven players now. Two different worlds. IMO top for 4 cbs will be Carr, Mo, Scandrick, Moore. From all reports ive heard and read so far in TC Scandrick is showing alot. Nobody is taking the slot from Scandrick. Period

This must have occurred in 2011 or earlier. The only Witten TD vs Washington last season was that ad lib 10 yarder or so when Romo slid around the pocket for nearly 10 seconds.
