I saw this reference and I think it's perfect. Jerry should just hang a sign on the stadium . "Closed until Romo returns."

We could all take a rest from the whining from week to week as we find news ways to lose without Romo. It takes a toll on everyone .

There's no accountability or criticism deemed worthy until he returns anyway. Only reason to keep the doors open for business is the meter is running. I'd rather just send my check in and save myself the frustration.

LOL........then the team has been closed for two years and mounting. Romo IS now the big problem in Dallas. He cant stay on the field. Stop living in 2014.

Its Dak and Zekes team now. Im sure Romo will come back for a few games, but how many?

It pains me to say It but it's a valid point, Roy. Tony's going to come back and we'll win some games but he is going to have to string the rest of the season together in order for it to be his team again and count on him for next year .

His injury was a fluke, but it leaves us no margin for error. If he can play the rest of the season we move on with Tony, but any more missed games after he comes back then we are going to have to take our lumps for a while and move on.

I'm not saying the season is lost because I think Dak will win some games and Tony will win when he gets back but we're right on the edge.

We better win this week. 0-2 in the Division puts you way behind the eight ball.

I keep hearing about all these fluke injuries. The guy is 36 has taken a beating and has a bad back. Cant move like he used to. We were never going to the SB anyway so no need to be down.

Romo could be rusty and be playing injured so there is no guarantee he will the Romo of 2014 in the beginning or ever again. Enjoy watching the young studs grow. Winning isnt everything. At some point you have to rebuild.

when/if he returns, it really is just a matter of time before he experiences his next "fluke" injury. A missed RB blocking assignment, Free's tendency to whiff, just about any hit Romo takes is the next opportunity for injury. I believe hits that most other QBs in the league would endure, result in injury to Romo. I can no longer count on him being there on Sunday and can't imagine playing on a team with that thought. How can a team get in a stride, get momentum.......he might very well be a progress stopper for this team.

We'll agree to disagree on this one.

He deserves the benefit of the doubt on the back injury which is totally independent of the other back issues. Dak's going to get six games and he's going to learn a lot and be better for it. After that, we'll have to see how it goes but as an organization, you can't dismiss Romo and go to Dak, not yet.

Good point." A progress stopper. ".

He has been masking a poorly ran and built team for years. Our weaknesses are much more exposed without him. Maybe Jerry will be able to properly address our needs without Romo and we can look for new means to win like building a great defense.

I like watching the Cowboys win or loss. There is stuff to talk about .There are some really good posters
on here that offer some great analysis of games weaknesses and strengths. It's interesting
The more that I've gotten into analysis, the less that I'm distraught by a loss.

It does require a close game to make analysis interesting. A blowout loss is bad all the way around but a 1 point loss is still interesting to watch and analyze.

Obviously I prefer wins, but if somebody is going to have a meltdown with every loss they might want to consider getting a hobby.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you. We simply can't rely on Romo. Yes, he is the best quarterback on the roster. But it's a collar bone here, a bad back there. We've been through two years where he is unable to complete the season, and he aint getting younger.

I'm not getting my hopes up high waiting for him to ride in on a white horse and rescue the season.

I'll be glad when he returns, but I'm not investing a lot of time and energy in any hopes that he will do so. At this point, for me, it's DAK TO THE FUTURE!!!

(Tell me, Jerry, where are we going this time?
Is this the 60s or 1989?
All that I wanted to do ... is see a Cowboys' victory
So take me away, I don't mind, but you better promise me
It'll be DAK IN TIME!) :)

Agree with you on the interesting part for sure.

If we go 0-2 after this game I already have my "Should we Tank the rest of the Season?" thread ready to be deployed.

On Sep 20th, it will be about one year.
That's if we don't include the two return games later in the season--which I won't include but would make the one year point this coming Thanksgiving. he wasn't right when he came back, so we'll just say he was out then too.

But I disagree with the OP. Looking forward to seeing the Cowboys in the coming weeks, regardless.

Like CowboyRoy said, it may be indirectly Romo's fault. The whole entire offensive system is designed for Romo. If anyone else is at the helm, they better be able to play exactly like Romo or they are gonna struggle no matter how good they are it seems. Coaching staff doesn't know how to cater this offense without him
