Cowboys closing on deal with Cooper Kupp

Kupp is used to a serious team with serious management.....unless the money is the highest, he'll go elsewhere to get another ring
Can't blame players for feeling that way.
When you strip back all the hype from this team, the reality is, it's had very very little post season success for 29 years.

If there were really 5 teams interested I would imagine this contract gets higher than the Cowboys want to pay. Also, even though Kupp may have some miles left, 2 out of his 8 seasons netted 1k and the 2021 season very likely was an anomaly. His recent injury history is a concern too, so I do question how good of an acquisition he would be at this point. Guys like Diggs, Allen, and Cooper may be options and if the market isn't as hot for them you may get an equally good player at a better price.

Heck I think Tyler Lockett may not be a bad option either and isn't too far behind that group.

If so, then the Fake Jerry will come on TheTicket and say, "Did you see me GM the hell out of that free agency?"

Of course the real Jerry will say the same thing under his breath. :muttley:

Yeah, $20 million? No thanks
I don't think they'll pay him that. Cowboys go for players at the tail end of their careers. They expect to pay those tail end prices. Kupp reminds me of WR Cobb at this point in his career. Not in his prime, but still really good at getting open.

I got excited and dived into the news just for this to be more cowboy crap

On the verge of signing
Oh no wait he might not sign
Ok we got him
Oh there’s another team

You know cowboy crap

I've started to come to the realization that the Cowboys camp doesn't actually do their due diligence. They just release stories like this and then say the deals didn't work out. We've started to hear from players recently (like Henry last year) that the Cowboys didn't even make an offer. JJ wants his name in the headlines, but has not intention of doing the work or putting up the money. The most valuable team in the world with a dime store owner.
