VIDEO: Someone Caught a Cowboys Coach Trying to Cheat During Packers Game

Dan O'Shea 09 OCT 2017

If you're a Cowboys fan, you can't be mad at your team after falling to 2-3 on the season. They're literally trying everything, whether it's in the rules or not.

During the fourth quarter on what would've been Dallas' game-winning drive, had it not been for the heroics of Aaron Rodgers just a few minutes later, the Cowboys were caught fighting for every single inch. Normally that's just how you win football games, but it's clear they weren't exactly doing this legally.

After Ezekiel Elliott extended his arm for a critical first down on fourth-and-1, a Cowboys coach kicked the first-down marker backward closer to the mark where Zeke was stopped.

See rest of article here.

I don't necessarily believe that to be cheating..... I think he was moving back to the down marker

Regardless, a coach shouldn't be touching down & distance

Yeah, unclear exactly what he is up to. I have my doubts whether this is an intentional attempt to cheat.

I've said it many times. We cheat a lot and, I won't lie, sometimes it bothers me.

You are an idiot for posting that....he was just moving it back where it should have been and only the chains matter anyway.

I have no idea what he is doing. It was an article that I ran across, Cowboys related, that I thought was interesting enough to post here.

I didn't know the team personnel where cool to touch the down markers like that and help the chain gang.

This is not cheating.

But nobody should be touching down and distance markers.

Only the refs.

I'm sure Garrett had a talk with him.

The refs could have thrown a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Then the game would have ended as we would not convert 4th and 15..

We were lucky there.

1) I don't know if that is a coach or a ref, but he is wearing the same pants all the referees and chain gang fellas wear (black with the white stripe on each side). So he sure looks like one of the sideline game officials to me.

2) No coach would do anything so stupid. They were bringing the chains out for a measurement. At that point, the location of the marker doesn't matter one bit. You could pick up the marker and move it wherever you want and it won't affect the measurement on the field. The chains are official, not the red marker.

3) My opinion is that it is a chain gang assistant simply trying to line the marker up with the chains themselves.

Right on....... He is with the refs/chain gang and the orange stripe isn't official anyways...... he moved it back to where the down marker was

1st and 25 not 4th and 15. We got the 1st, so then we tack on the penalty.

It actually would have still been 1st and 10. A dead ball personal foul after a first down no longer goes to 1st and 25. You back them up 15 yards, but it's still 1st and 10.
