Cowboys coach challenges Micah Parsons to take on stronger leadership role

Being a so called “team leader” is often misunderstood. Many see leadership as a guy who is the center of the pregame huddle who is yelling the loudest. Or the one giving motivational rah-rahs in the locker room.

To me leadership for a team sport starts with a man’s example. Putting the team’s goals first, doing things the right way, strong work ethic, showing more than telling. Micah does some “showing” for sure, but he also needs to reduce the amount of “telling” he does on the social media front.

Zack Martin was a leader in the right way. Worked hard, stayed focused on team goals and was highly respected despite being a quiet personality. He was one of the most respected guys in that locker room.

Micah Parsons is the most talented guy on this team. But to this point in his career he does not appear to place his role as a team leader above his personal goals. Will we ever see that? Who knows.
Still very much a pup above the shoulders. Maybe DL being gone will make him more comfortable stepping up. We know he isn’t shy.

I think sometimes we get a little caught up in wanting the players to have the passion to win that guys like Irvin, Emmitt and Aikman had. That was rare for back then, and closer to impossible now.

Used to be a player would need to either be great or a winner to get a media job/endorsements after they retire, but now that’s nowhere near necessary…what they make as a player should more than set up most guys for life.

I try to let it bead off me. The game has changed so much, and not for the better, but many things are like that. Get this….in my 20s I recall thinking that you’re officially old when you lament the way things used to be and I vowed not to do it, yet here I am lol.

You could still make a couple of bucks on the side ACTING like you just LOVE Prescott........LOL!
I love him more than anything on earth, and I'll defend him from mean and rude people who throw dirt on his name. He is all I live for

Shuddup, Schotty. You just take leadership and responsibility of your upcoming disaster of the 2025 season.

You cant force someone to lead and take on more responsibility. Sometimes the best player on the field isnt the best leader and thats ok. Let your play lead the way.

The coaches need to shut up and let Micah be Micah. He is already the only defensives player that shows he cares about winning and hates losing. He always gives max effort. The coaches need to put that pressure on the players not named Micah Parsons.

You laugh because you know no better, Dak has been so good to us, he's the pellet to my pellet smoker (COOG loves to BBQ) lol
Well, when you invite Prescott over for some of that delicious BBQ, make you tell him to bring lots of 100 bills for the smoker, to get that Benjamin flavor.............
