In the midst of the Texas summer heat, Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett remembers what made former wide receiver Michael Irvin a Hall of Famer.
When going down the list of the greatest Dallas Cowboys players of all-time, it will not take you long to come across Michael Irvin‘s name. The Cowboys first round draft pick in 1988, Irvin went on to have a twelve-year career in Dallas, record 750 catches, nearly 12,000 receiving yards, 65 touchdowns, receive five Pro Bowl invitations, a Pro Bowl MVP award and three Super Bowl rings.
Forced to retire in 1999 due to a spinal cord injury, Irvin was finally inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame nine years later. One of the attributes that made the former heart and soul of those nineties championship teams so special was his legendary work ethic.
With the current version of the Cowboys now grinding out OTA sessions out in the grueling Texas heat, Irvin’s former teammate and current Dallas head coach Jason Garrett reminisced recently about his time with the Hall of Famer during their offseason practices at Valley Ranch.
