Cowboys could possibly be first team to score and give up 500 points

Not sure but i went back to see how many times a defense gave up 500 points and there are a few teams that gave up 500 points. Carolina, Wash, Det and the Jets.

I was thinking and i got tired of searching. The Cowboys could possibly be the first team to score 500 points and give up 500 points.

I'm sure Jerry could sell that to the fans.

We scored 407 and gave up 420 with 3 ganes remaining

No matter what happens the last 3 games, you know that Jerry will be selling this team hard this offseason:
We were in the hunt!
We had a great draft!
We are getting healthy !
Coaching staff has more experience !
Blah blah blah

Nolan's 2020 group gave up 473 so there's that goal to keep it "under."

That would mean only giving up 53 over the next 3 games...
Practically impossible with this group.

So I think Flus has a good shot at taking Nolan's points allowed title.

The Baltimore Colts gave up 533 in 1981. Even though Carolina surpassed them last year, the 17th game tacked on 38 points. But yeah, if we have 3 high scoring games, we could get there.

They'll break that record over the next two games. Team record of shame is a lock at this point. The NFL record isn't even safe with this defense.

since we have gone from 12 to 14 to 16 to 17 games since 1960 I would much rather look at PPG

and the 1981 Baltimore colts hold the record at 33.3 for the NFL
which means we would have to allow 566 points
so I think that record is safe from us

how can he sell that to fans, this makes no sense. The Jerry hate is really silly at times.

So, do we really think a team giving up exactly 30ppg can hold the last 3 teams to less than the almost 27 needed to break that mark? Any takers?
 
Can’t believe this group is going to be as bad if not worse than Nolan’s group. That’s saying something.

I get your point, but I’m not sure if Quinn “wants” to lose. With the way FO’s are these days, they could mess around and fire Quinn (doubt it, but anything is possible).

The NFL went to 17 games in 2021, so it took 5 years for a team to do it with the current number of games.

That's still a lot!

Cowboys are first, in so many things, we used to be first in Super Bowl rings
 
Yeah but if you're being fair you have to ask yourself how many points would have been given up if the coordinator had a different vantage point in the coaching booth.

It basically invalidates your whole point.
