Cowboys could possibly be in line for Adalius Thomas?

Ware and Carpenter are making nice money as first rounders. And Bradie James and Ayodele got nice deals.

But it's only "mega bucks" if we're comparing it to the peanuts we used to give out to guys like Randall Godfrey before Jerry decided it was okay to re-sign his own linebackers.
LBs were deemed a dime a dozen in the 4-3 days, it was one position Dallas seemed to always find diamonds in the rough with in mid rounds such as Darrin Smith, Randall Godfrey, Dexter Coakley, Dat Nguyen, Darren Hambrick wasn't a bad player either.

The defensive line is what got the bucks in 4-3 days, now it is almost the opposite.

Find big aggressive bodies for the front and skillful athletes that pack a punch for your backers which costs money.

For example Hatcher, Canty, Ratliff, Ferguson all have mid to late round backgrounds.

But Ware, Ellis, Carpenter all have first round pedigrees.

Im just saying with the lack of pass-rush we are going to need the players to perfect Wade Phillips game plan and I believe first off we should get Adalius Thomas signed sealed and delivered to Dallas where he and Demarcus Ware could be getting to the Quarterback non-stop.

A little unrealistic.....

If we actually signed this guy, all you guys would be falling over yourselves with glee (as would I). I can't even describe the flexibility we would have rushing the Quarterback. We would have three solid pass rushing LBers - Ware, Thomas, and Carp (at least in college). Further, we could bring in Ellis on 3rd down as a DT or DE along with Hatcher. OMG, we would wreck havok.

I'm way fired up to see the defense as it is. If we got this guy, whew... August would seem years away.

Baltimore won't let him go.

Probably, but one can hope:

- The Ravens may not possess the cap room to designate free agent linebacker Adalius Thomas as their franchise player. Baltimore must cut Jamal Lewis, a move that'd save $8.3 million, but still leaves the team only roughly $12 million under the cap. Thomas wants at least $12 million to sign and the Ravens need money for rookie deals. Re-signing Jarret Johnson to fill the void may be Baltimore's best bet. - Free agent LB Adalius Thomas says he wants to retire a Raven. "Hopefully, Baltimore will step up and get the deal done," Thomas said. He's also indicated he doesn't expect to be franchised, and is believed to be seeking at least $12 million to sign. Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome said Wednesday he hasn't decided whether he'll slap Thomas with the tag. (Feb. 15, - 4:00 PM EST - Source: Baltimore Sun)

If Adalius Thomas test out Free Agency, I think Cowboys need to make him one of the top priorities.
