Cowboys could restructure Brandon Carr contract.

Hope they run this by Mara first...:laugh2:

The first of many . . .

I agree. It's clearly time to looking toward the future. Despite the fact that we're still technically in the playoff hunt. Too many key injuries to expect any type of real push/run. Not to mention the other factors.

This is a hypothetical.

It's taken from archers salary cap article posted a few hours ago. Archer never said they were or are doing this, he said they could.

projected to have his second worst year ever ... 51 tackles and 1 int.

Stats from Fox Sports site.

Maybe they can restructure his ability to cover mediocre receivers while they're at it.

those stats mean absolutely nothing in regards to his play. I am not commenting on his play good or bad, just saying those stats dont tell you anything.

I think we may end up with around $35 million in cap room and that is counting the $5 million joke of a penalty.

I have no issue with Carr.. I think he does a tremendous job out there. The safeties are a whole different story though.

It sure is and Archer is assuming that the Cowboys will convert all of Carr's salary into a bonus which is a plausible idea, but VR can restructure whatever amount they need to get where they want to be.

Also Archer is wrong about being $20M over, it's more like around $13M.

The Cowboys can restructure Carr, extend Romo, and cut Free and they will be under $20M pretty quickly.

Wow really ? That's great news. We can have a good chunk of room to make some significant moves. What big name free agents will be available this coming off season ?

I can only image how well Carr and Mo would do with somewhat athletic safeties.

True but looking at the numbers, it's a very good possibility they restructure. He wont lose any money.

With Carr likely restructuring and Romo getting an extension...i cant see how Connor stays at nearly a 4.5 cap number...then i'm sure there may be a surprise veteran released or 2. The Cowboys should have a ton of cap space

It's a clause put in to his contract like free ans austin had. Turns the salary into a bonus ao they spread out over the contract for the cap

Have you not watched him the past few weeks? He's been pretty bad tbh. And he got absolutely burned by the Commanders twice for TD's, both man coverage. That's his fault. I will say that our horrible play from the safety position isn't helping him out any though.
