Cowboys could see change at linebacker spot in 2016

...A look out: McClain was suspended for the first four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy and faces a steeper penalty with another misstep. Plus there is always the question of whether he wants to continue to play.

The Cowboys could keep him because the price tag will not be that high. Wilber will be an interesting decision because of his ability to play multiple spots. He can play in the nickel package if necessary, or put his hand on the ground as a pass rusher. He is also a core special teamer.

The Cowboys have other needs, but it is not a stretch to see them taking a linebacker early in the draft. UCLA’s Myles Jack might be the best athlete available and could be in the mix with the fourth overall pick, even if that seems high for a linebacker...

I'm a former linebacker and I am excited about some of the options at the top of this draft.

I don't know that I wouldn't trade down a couple times and at the top of the draft...rounds 1 & 2, end up with a defensive tackle, linebacker, and cornerback...and wouldn't pay any attention to the wolf huffing and puffing at the front door.

Myles Jack is going to beast at the combine and the majority of the forum is going to swear they were for him all along lol. Jack is awsome in every sense. Those that watched him know what im talking about. guy can tackle and blitz can cover ground from sideline to sideline as good as any player in this draft. Nomatter what posistion. He's just one of them rare athletes.

He and Jones in packages would make it very hard on slot receivers, tight ends, and backs on screens.

Agree, and IMO a player like Jeremy Cash at SS would add an intimating factor. MY dream offseason for this defense would be Wilkerson in FA, Jack in RD1, Cash in RD2. Would immediatly improve this defense alot

Smart to consider alternatives to McClain but Jack at 4 is too high. Reaching there.

Agree but an athlete. I still think they will trade down if they can. There is scuttlebutt about about Wentz being a number one. I'll wait on the Senior Bowl and see how he practices and plays in the game with the big boys. I want a S or a CB perhaps a pass rusher but I like the DT from AL a lot. Perhaps we can get Brissett outta NC State in the 2nd or 3rd.
