Cowboys | Could show interest in Micheal Spurlock
Thu, 28 Mar 2013 18:53:38 -0700

The Dallas Cowboys could show interest in free-agent WR Micheal Spurlock (Chargers) this offseason because he has played for special teams coach Rich Bisaccia on several different teams.

Pretty good return man I think he had 2 in one game last year.

Made Rich Bisaccia's career when he was the first to return a kickoff for a TD for the Bucs. Hope they can be reunited. Return game will be safe and productive.

I doubt there's any truth to this speculation since Dwayne Harris stepped up as a return man last year.

Only if they try to save Harris as he looks to be the 3rd receiver...?

In my opinion I dont think Harris has the great speed to be a good return man

I think Dallas wants him to do more than just be a receiver if he's the third receiver. Returning punts/kicks is typical for the position.

You don't have to have great speed to be a good return man (although it certainly helps). You've got to have good balance and a vision. If you find the hole and can break arm tackles, you can use average speed to escape a coverage team that has to turn around and try to catch you.

The Dallas Cowboys could show interest in a trade for Tom Brady who already has agreed to a contract extension with the Patriots.

Did you even watch him last year? He was just as good as Dez at returns...probably better.

+1...............I love how for the past 5 years we have not had that 3wr who could return punts and kicks, now we finally find one and now we are going to go searching for one? Makes no sense. Harris is a beast and I don't think we need to add a wr at all. I like our top 5 Bryant, Austin, Harris, Beasley, and Coale.

Return man?

I wish this forum would differentiate between a kick off returner and a punt returner. These are two very different job descriptions and require a totally different skill set. There are but a few who possess both sets.

You mean the Dwayne Harris that was second in the entire league in punt return average for primary return men? That Dwayne Harris?

harris is very good on punts. not so much on kicks but then neither is this guy. he was good but he is getting older. if you take out the one kick he broke last year he only averaged 17 yards a kick return and not near the punt returner. so many peole see a guy return one for a td and think he is great. i like the guy who consistantly get solid yards

The guy has steadily improved since being drafted from East Carolina. He has shown to have enough quickness and speed to be an effective return man. His balance has to be attributed to his massive legs. Which he definitely has worked hard on. He is reliable and see no reason whatsoever why he can't be our 3rd WR. For a 6th round draft this is no disappointment at all.
