Cowboys create more than 19m in cap space with three restructures

What Stephen and Jerry say isn’t all that relevant. You want to tell me if this team goes to the nfc champ game or the Super Bowl for the first time in 31 years they’re going to break it up? I wouldn’t bet on it
Jerry and Jimmy broke up a back to back Super Bowl winner.

Ego and money are about the only two things that do matter to Jerry. Winning comes in third … maybe

If this is just rollover for 2027, why do it now?
Everyone is asking this. They say its so Pickens can get done. Like Cavanaugh said, why now why those players when there was no need?

After trading for Amari Jerry said he didnt speak to the media because he couldn't keep quiet......

This is probably as they say but it sure nice to hope lol.

This take is probably the most sane right now.

I think this is close to it
this has nothing to do about carryover for next season
Jethro wants to make a splash; and is going to try and do something real fast.
For that, he needs the CAP money in hand

They don’t need the money until next year for Pickens so no need for restructures at this point. You’re off base again.
There’s more money to spread if they do it now as opposed to paying an entire salary for this year and waiting until the next.

Whoa -- 19 million surely is an awful lot of cap space -- here's hoping it's used wisely. That amount of dough can make worlds of difference, if so . . . It should be enough to help this year and next!

$33 million carry over will cover them putting the franchise tag on George Pickens, until the work out a new contract. If they do not get one worked out before FA starts.
Broaddus mentioned tagging GP again,

Count me with those who conclude that the FO has concluded that their first 22 are in the range of adequate-to-strong... but that they perceive they need to be ready at a relative moment's notice that if/when one of those get sidelined for a significant number of games... depth not so great... and so, they're going to want to have payroll flexibility already achieved so that they can simply focus on the phone calls necessary to strike a deal for an almost-immediate replacement.

I think they ,me.we need to see the team play a few games to determine where they actually need help the most!

THERE'S NO WAY YOU DO ALL OF THIS for nothing!! Now if it were a small amount ok, I'm not assuming or speculating! This sized amount hell yeah, the door is wide open for anything to happen. I just don't see them doing that much for a focus on NEXT season! Wouldn't it be Jerry to steal open week headlines and make a huge trade????

No not at this point. Getting Jones from Pittsburgh and signing Miller is his news.
Can't see a trade at this point. The game plan is pretty much in place for game 1 with the players they have.
Practice for that starts this week.

It will cost cap space when they’re able to sign him to an extension, which isn’t now
Right. But people are looking for possible reasons for the cap space. They are inquiring about Pickens. If the window wasn't shut on Pickens, signing him would give Dallas more cap space. Of course next year he'll take up cap space on whichever team signs him.
