Championship!

Does that include all the signings including Elam? If so then they are in great shape because they can create much more room than that.

Would have been smart to redo those contracts last year, being an uncapped year, and paying out the majority of the contracts.... supposedly this is what Washington did, enabling them to wash away their past cap sins.

Don't forget the cursed dead money that is on the books next year. Yes, we'll definitely get under the cap this year no problem, but all this dead money could severely impact our ability to be big players in the FA market next year.

And we're gonna have to be to a certain extent -- we've got a couple of ILBs, a twinkie CB, and a few others that need to be cut next year. If we were able to find all of these players via the draft who could actually start from day one, it would darn near be a football miracle.

Yes, but teams were told all along they would be held accountable for everything they did in the uncapped years and that those dumped cap dollars would be brought forward once the cap came back. That did not happen and a few select teams that didn't head the warning benefited greatly. It is the biggest injustice with the new CBA. If they were going to do that, they should have given all teams 24 hours to release players in the same fashion so that everyone could start the new CBA on the same footing.

Yeah, I'd like some further clarificaton on that. With the new CBA, all prior dead money was forgiven -- is it just me, or did we really get caught with our pants down on this one?

I'm with you, especially if they said those cap dollars would still exist. That is total BS and really makes a mockery of the whole system.

What does that even mean?

I will Be so glad when they flush.

It's called "humor," zrinkill -- in a 'one is totally contradictory to the other' kind of way. I will try and make my humor a bit more simplistic and obvious for you in the future.

Only thing that is simplistic and obvious is your trolling.

I have seen AdamJT post several times and even saw it in an article that teams were told numerous times that any salary dumps during the uncapped years would have to be accounted for under a new salary cap. Somehow, they didn't include that in the new CBA and didn't allow teams that headed the warnings to even up with the teams that did not.

Total BS -- upsets the competitive nature of the league in the short-term. Friggin' get out of jail free cards.

The Cowboys will restcurture one or two and save the others for next year

Wow, I had not heard that,,, that's freaking ridiculous. Why would everybody vote to let the cheaters off the hook?

It was either overlooked or a concession by the owners. This is the 2nd time the skins have been bailed out. The first was when the owners voted in 2009 to opt out of the old CBA. Had they voted the other way, the skins would have been close to $40 million over the cap and would have had like 2 days to get under it. Once the owners opted out, it created the uncapped year and the skins were off the hook. They proceeded in the two uncapped years to undo all the salary cap damage they had been built up and it was all washed away with the new CBA. So, they got bailed out twice and are now sitting there close to $20 million under the cap after all those years and all those ridiculous signings.

I hate them even more now! Thanks Cowboys22 you had to go ahead and tell this story which I am sure many of us did not know. I can just see Old Danny boy snickering with his Dr. Evil Laugh. God I hate that team and that owner. The only player I have ever had respect for was London Fletcher.
