This is the part that I dont want to see us get away from when Dak gets back. The defense has taken the mantle as the leaders and strength of the team. They are playing off the chain EVERY game knowing they have to win every game for us. My worry when Dak comes back is that this attitude shifts. MM would be wise to have the offense and defense get some kind of rivalry going to keep them both competitive.

I dont want Dak and the offense to take back the swagger of the team. Want to be a physically dominating defensive football team.

I don't think the defense will change, nor they will look at the lack of offense as being a burden. So they must carry the team.
I know that is not what you are saying. But I can see some may think it may get that way. I think MM has this team as a team. No division in it at all.

Defense takes pride in how good they have become, and will strive to get better. When Dak returns and the offense scores more points, controls the ball more, gives the defense more rest.
I believe that will compliment each other, and both sides of the ball as a team will share the swagger.

I don't see this as a selfish team nor selfish players.

Didnt say anything about selfish.

I just dont want the defense to ease off the gas knowing that offense is one of the best in the NFL under Dak. If we start blowing people out, we know how the Cowboys can get all cocky and come out unprepared.

I want to see the Defense remain the identity of the team.

Hopefully MM, Moore and Dak understand what we have in the defense and pounding other teams with the run, hitting them with measured shots down field is the way. What I fear is Moore and Dak try to get pass happy and get away from what is working. 2016 Dak is what we need. Not 30-40 passes a game

Sounds like you want our thumper at running back to carry the ball 22 times a game. If so, I totally agree with you. Play Dak under center at let our thumper take the lead. We go as Zeke goes.

I think MM said last week we are a defense-first team.

The defense won't change its mentality when Dak gets back, he has no impact on their mindset and how they go about their business. Personally, I veiw Micah n Tank as the leaders of the team and those have a dawg mentality.

If anything having an offense that can sustain drives is best for the defense. A lot of times you can see some players on D are gassed because they seem to be right back on the field as soon as they get off.

The 2 biggest thing when Dak gets back, imo, are him sticking with the run and ot checking out of it 13 times a game (week 1) and dak making the read/getting the ball out quick like rush has been. I think it's helped our oline not having to pass block as long.

100% Disagree. I want all 3 sides of the ball to feel they the dominant side of the team.

We will need both bus driver Dak and #1 offense Dak depending on week to week. Moore has shown that when the run game is working well, he pounds it.

With this defense, Im not sure how much we will truly fall behind so there is that.

I want to run the ball, but not with Zeke. That 3.8 ypc average doesnt cut it. Maybe when dak gets back and the defense backs up some he can get over 4 ypc. We can only hope.

Dak may want to but everyone knows who’s the alpha in the team. Micah. Zeke is hardly getting any press either.

So we gave him over 200 million $ and tons of fame and now you want our defense to give him a Superbowl.
Dang that Dak is one lucky fellow........

Dak being pass happy is still just a myth. Getting the ball out quicker I definitely agree with.

As I stated last season Parsons is the guy that’s going to get us a SB. Not Dak, Zeke, or Lamb.

To the OP, We just don’t have the horses on offense to revert back to the #1 offense unfortunately. Having said that we finally don’t need to be anymore. That’s the best thing about this whole thing!

The offense would have to have great performances for any chance of the identity shifting...That's a win-win.

Zeke has averaged 4 yards a carry his whole career. The 3.8 from last game only happen, because they were trying to run out the clock. Remember at the end of the game, Zeke lost yards on three straight carries. So, if you want 4 yards a carry, Zeke is your man. Moore just needs to get him 21 carries a game like Zeke was getting in 2016. He had 322 carries in 15 games.
