I think the game today as well as next weeks game will tell us where this team is at.After five games the defense should start to resemble what they are going to be,the same can be said about the offense and special teams.At the bye if the defensive play or any other unit is still improving there is no reason to think that it won't continue.However if a unit of this team is struggling at the bye,that would be a reason for some concern.

I expect the young guys like Jenkins and Scandrick to make mistake but I also expect them to improve over the course of the season as they get more and more experianced within the defense. I'm not sure I would say a game in oct defines who you are as a team or a unit.

I think thats the point,three game is not a big enough body of work to assess where this team is at.However after five games we should start to see who this team is,will a team identity emerge.

I agree. I think teams who become content end up getting bit. I think that happened to the Cowboys in 2007 season we got a bit content instead of players looking to improve.

I wonder what rock some of the "Fans" are living under. 3 years of Roy Williams giving up big plays because management refused to admit he couldn't cover. Newman has 4 bad games where he misses tackles and gives up 10-12 completions..then one game where he makes an interception..BFD. The safties are CRAP. The LB's are run oriented. Sure they stop the run on most days..but opposing QB's know that so they eat them alive on underneath routes. The cowboys are a .500 team, largely because they have NO SECONDARY. Denver will take advantage of the poor Dallas secondary, and the run oreinted LB's. The safeties will continue with their crap coverage and dismal tackeling. And Jerry will pack his monument to Stupidity ( Fans) with money spending hopefulls that forgot what a great team Dallas USED to have.

Funny how you forget to throw in how Newman shut down Steve Smith holding him to 38 yards on 4 catches. Oh yea, with a "pick 6" thrown in there for good measure. I thought the secondary made some good adjustments last week and played well. You hold a team to 7 points in the NFL you are doing something right.

I have full confidence in the Dallas Secondary to stink up the Denver Statium. Their technique is laughable. Anybody in the Dallas Coaching staff now anything about DB technique?...Campo? I'm laughing! I've always liked Dallas..they are an entertaining ball club..but a champion or contender??...Not until they get some LB's and a new secondary.

Steve Smith had nothing but praise and respect for TNew after being asked about his thoughts of the Cowboys secondary this week. So for a CB to hold you to 38 yards with no TDs (basically shut you down) and for you to have nothing but praise for him... IMO that's a very good measure of exactly what TNew does. He just makes it happen. Nothing spectacular or flashy... Just solid work.

The Broncos' wide receivers were shut down almost all game. On the winning TD, Newman was in perfect position and barely missed an interception. Blame the secondary for poor tackling after the catch, but the coverage was excellent almost all game.
