Lawrence is great at doing the dirty work that doesn't always show up on the stat sheet. He's one guy you can say cares about stopping the run and delivers. But his days of being a major threat to the QB are over. If having help from Parsons didn't rejuvenate that threat, it's not coming back. Still a very valuable player for what he does and I'm happy we still have him. Gotta start thinking about his replacement though.
As much as I can agree with you on most of that dude you watched the game he does put pressure on the quarterback he is a threat I've seen him knock down more balls this year than I believe most anybody else on the team you know when he knows he can't get there he knows when to stop and hit the ball he's a lot better player he's definitely underrated here he may not be the high sack guy but he's a high pressure guy if you don't think the pressures are affecting the quarterback and being a threat along with him knocking balls down and making the quarterback maybe not come his way when trying to bail out from Parsons that hesitation gets somebody else a sack.. He's always been underrated here the man's a three down pass rusher he's better than Parsons because of that maybe Parsons will grow into that and I know Parsons are more elite type pass rusher but just as a three down player he's better IMO

I think he is a very good player, reminds me of Greg Ellis. Very technically sound, good motor, but doesn't have the elite pass rushing skills people want to see.
People don't talk about it, but Greg Ellis is 3rd on the Cowboys all-time sack list. Behind only Ware and Jim Jeffcoat.

Ellis will eternally get crap for being "not Randy Moss", but he had a better career than fans think.

He said that about the team in general, not himself. If you actually watch the game he was one of the few players who actually showed up. That was a bad comment but I'm sure he is searching for answers to the inexplicable no-show most of the team did against GB just like the rest of us.
And Parsons refuted that comment so it just speaks more to the disfunction here.

Lawrence and Parsons are supposed to be the leaders of the defense so WTH?

He's a decent player maybe a little better than his stats show but he's no Charles Haley and he's no Ed too tall Jones.

He's like all the rest here get paid to just what's necessary keep your window of opportunity open as long as you can and make as much money as possible.

Come play off time come up small say you're tired get out and go home.

Tank what a joke for a nickname more like one of these new electric cars that runs out of juice when you need it most

You guys need to pay closer attention. He has contributed as much as anyone to the culture of "get your stats and get your bag". He was our "war daddy". One of the highest paid defenders in the NFL based entirely on his performance in his contract year. He should have been holding people like J Smooth and Bossmanfat and Sam Williams accountable. Instead he enables these people and creates insane cliques like the Hot Boyz.

He went out of his way to alienate the best and most prepared defender we have had in ages in Sean Lee. Imagine if players had to be accountable and meet Sean's level of preparation.

A guy who is paid like an all time great and the best thing anyone ever says about him is that he is pretty good against the run and does a lot of the dirty work. It is just like Zeke and his blocking.

Complete madness.

Exactly. He is solid on the field, not great. Jerry paid him like a sack guy figuring that would inspire him to become that. Unless Jerry means something else when he says things like “I pay him to be, so he better be..”

Lawrence is a Garrett-era entitled type with a direct line to Jerry, and telling young players not to pay attention to the head coach because Jerry is the guy in charge is in a nutshell why this team repeatedly fails/underachieves, and why virtually any HC has way too much to overcome.

I won’t miss him.

Didn't Lawrence take a pay cut to stay with the team?

He did some sort of restructure in order to stay, which served him just as well as the team.

Doesn’t excuse the other behavior. Not to mention the threat to not get shoulder surgery if he didn’t get his money.

Whatever though. The biggest problem in Dallas IMO is the HC having no authority and the players knowing it. Him spreading that is just unacceptable, but since the guy in charge probably liked him doing it, maybe it isn’t fully on him.

As a fan, he is just not someone I’m going to be sorry to see go when the time comes. Sad, and I truly wish I didn’t feel that way but I do.

A good comparison. Ellis was underappreciated as well.

The toxic stuff I'm not sure about, but being all around I don't know. He's a better run stopper than he is a pass rusher, I wish it was 50/50 and not 85/15

I missed the details on this. Do tell.
