Dez Bryant will miss a significant portion of the season as he fights his way back from a broken bone in his right foot.

DeMarcus Lawrence has a good idea of what lies ahead for the Pro Bowl receiver. The Cowboys defensive end suffered a similar injury last season.

"It's really not tough,'' Lawrence said. "It's just staying after it, staying focused...

...But it seems more focus was placed on Dez Bryant, who will be out anywhere from four to eight weeks with a foot injury that needed surgery. While no injury is the same, it was at least very similar to the one Lawrence had last year at training camp, which forced him to miss the first half of the season.

The injuries are similar, but one of the biggest differences is how the Cowboys are handling the issue. Lawrence was placed on short-term injured reserve, which is a minimum absence of eight weeks. Lawrence returned for the ninth game and played the second half of the season.

The Cowboys have elected not to put Bryant on the same list, obviously hopeful the star receiver can return before that...

the toughest thing for a guy like Dez will be not being on the field for his teammates.
Amazes me people called him selfish and a diva for so long. dude just wants to win.

The national media will do whatever it can to paint the Cowboys (especially Dez) in a negative light. They said he was crying on the sideline about not getting the ball, then the audio came out and obviously it was the total opposite.

This article once again says it was a Jones fracture. Has this been confirmed? I haven't seen anybody from the front-office say that. Of course, they may never say it because it does them no good to say it.

The problem is not that he'll recover, the problem is that when he's back his lower body won't be in football shape. That concerns me because there could be another injury. I would not rush Dez back at all.

Garrett when asked if he knew if it was a Jones fracture responded I do not know that.

Jerry when asked said he didn't know what a Jones fracture was.
