In this case, the original thread was deleted due to some folks not adhering to forum guidelines. So the thread wouldn't have shown up in your search.
The thread was deleted but the thread title was still on the page -- it simply said "thread moved" or the like. Regardless, this isn't the first repost. It's a daily even with this guy.

Nobody hates the Commanders more than me, ... nobody loves to see them lose more than me, ... nobody loves to see you guys rip them and make fun of them more than me.

But the truth of the matter is they have beaten us 3 out of the last 4 times we have played, so we need to shut up and get it done on the field.

Then we can laugh again.

We filled our only real need in a pass rush. That was our biggest problem last year. Next year if we get hit by free agency or injuries we may need a WR or DB or running back, but fact is we are good enough at those positions for this year. If we get no pass rush the DBs won't look good. That's just the way the NFL is today.

34 sacks last year. That's the average for the Cowboys in this decade.

Our Pass Defense was at the bottom of the NFL.

Drafting two corners in the 7th round doesn't really do much to help.

Guess we really needed a kicker and FB more than a corner.

Why are you giving him such a hard time? He generally does a great job of posting articles from various sources concerning the Cowboys.

I for one do not go through the whole crap load of other websites that cover the Cowboys and REALLY like the fact that I can stop by this forum or another and pretty much am able to see every written about the Boys on a daily basis.

This is uncalled for Theogt. Calm down bro.

First round draft pick spent on a pass rush specialist therefore.......

Q: Do you have a general defensive philosophy?
Zimmer: It changes based on the personnel that you have a little bit, but basically, we are going to stop the run, however we have to do it. If I have to put 11 guys out there, if I have to cheat and put 12 out there, we are going to stop the run. Obviously, we are trying to create turnovers and put pressure on the quarterback when we can do that. If you don't get the run stopped, then you don't have the chance to pressure the quarterback and you are fighting an uphill battle all day. That will be the one big thing and hopefully, if we can get teams in the situations in which we can attack them, we will be aggressive.

34 sacks from a DCoordinator that says "We'll use all 11 guys on defense to stop the run.... and, yeah, we'll put pressure on the QB when we get a chance to do that"

Is it a coincidence that our pass defense was at the bottom of the NFL?

I THINK NOT!!!

Us slow ones who don't spend 24/7 here (though we'd like too) really appreciate the opportunity to catch up, so I say long live the repost! and to those who don´t like them ignore and do not click!

If thegot can be on this site 24/7 and read everything, so can you! :lmao:

C'mon, get rid of that life you have and know EVERY post that has been posted. And when a well-meaning fan posts something, be ready to pounce on that. Like the little girl who runs to the teacher to tattle. :D

OK, guys, let's not be so critical when we (with lives) repost.
And as I see, this original post has gotten lots of responses. So it cant be all bad.

Sacks are the most overrated stat in a pass rush. You can sack a guy 50 times in a season and still not have a good pass rush. A pass rush in constantly force the QB into bad decisions. And really our defense after Ellis got hurt didn't force the QB to do anything. QBs had all year to throw.

This coming from a Washington paper whose local team disdains the draft so much that it once drafted "John Wayne of Hollywood" out of boredom one year during the George Allen years. Of course, if they want to write about the draft, that limits them to writing about other teams' drafts.

Have they have nothing else to write about? Not even Clinton Portis' statements in support of Michael Vick and dog fighting saying "It's his land and it's his property, he can use it any way he wants to." That must be a good argument; all the old slave owners used it.

Seems to me there are lots of things to write about, some of them could even about football, like their running back/salary cap situation and Sean Springs' future and overpaid, underperforming players and why Danny Boy keeps getting SHORT-changed in negotiations with free agents and how successful their highly paid OC and DC have been in achieving last years great 5-11 record and how the outlook for this year is every bit as good.

Maybe they could write about Shorty's secret plan to trade their first round pick next year for Greg "Eyore" Ellis and give him the bigger contract he deserves or how their team has no weaknesses and great depth.

Come to think of it, maybe they should be writing about other teams' drafts.

"Shorty"?? Well, that's just disrespectful...

In the future, kindly refer to the Commanders owner by his proper title:

The Mad Midget...

Just curious to how you would explain the Cowboy's defensive collapse last season. None of our corners got hurt. Our safeties didn't really play any worse than the rest of the season. One guy did get hurt right before the defensive collapse. I wonder what position he played?

Was your intention to quote me... or eduncan22?

A quick review of my posts since the draft last month would tell you that I've endorsed a strong pass rush from the defensive front seven would help our present cornerbacks. Reading my past posts would tell you that I'm in 100% agreement in the drafting of Anthony Spencer, one of the premier pass rushers coming out of college. I fully expect Spencer to not only compete with Greg "Mr. Achilles" Ellis for his starting role...

...I expect him to win it, in fairly quick fashion.

What was your question again?

New Orleans showed the way....

Henry was a target the last 5-6 games of the season. He's slow, always hurt, and seldom makes a play.

Newman rarely covers the best WR, mostly playing the slot.

Aaron Glenn is way too small and feeble, his best years way behind him. [see the Commanders game, 2005, last 4 minutes. hint: Santa Moss]

Glenn has been burned by the best WR's in the game the last 2 seasons. [Game 16 2006, vs. Detroit. R Williams scores 2 TDs on Glenn in the 1st half]

Teams like to throw deep corner routes on Henry and Glenn. Mostly because they are slow corners. Glenn likes to arm-bar his WR's [see Atlanta PI call]

Catch us in a cover-2 and Henry is toast.

Newman is clearly the best corner we have. Teams avoid him. Why take a chance when Henry/Glenn is out there?

That about sums it up.
