Cowboys drafted at least 4 "Captains"

I think that is really telling of a draft philosophy.

This draft feels a lot like the 2005 draft. I'm really excited about it.

Good to see these high character guys coming in. You know team captains are going to come in and be hard working, smart, dedicated guys.

I might have to eat crow on Jason Garrett. He is proving me wrong consistently.

Not me...looong way to go considering the more experienced coaches we passed up. So far, Garrett is just a feel good story (just like Romo) and I'm happy for the guy etc, but that don't mean jack to the 31 other teams out there waiting to kick our butts on the field. The past is history and this team needs to get to back to SB....period.

He took a 1-7 struggling team to 6-10 going 5-3 in the final 8 games of the year... with Jon Kitna.

He lost to New Orleans by 3, Philly by 3, and Arizona by 1.

He has done a lot to change the culture of this team and I will give him his due for that.

I think he could have gone undefeated with Romo and the team playing to potential.

he's getting players that work hard and are accountable. This is how you build a team folks. Change the culture Garrett make them believers.

We've had some great players, but not exactly the best leaders.

Being a leader on that UNC team really does not speak for much. Now saying that Carter does not demand respect or is missing those qualities but I am not holding my breath expecting him to make a difference in the leadership department.

Funny thing about JG ... is that he seems to be a lot like Parcells in some regards. Jerry did originally plan to have JG work under Bill and I think Garrett would have really done well in that environment.

Both men have made it a point to acquire players who have been leaders in college and/or in other NFL stops

In fact, 13 of the 26 players Dimitroff has drafted were college captains.

That Romo line was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. I'm serious, I couldn't stop laughing from the fact that you were serious when you wrote it.

Rudy was a feel good story, Matt Bryant winning games with kicks after his son died was a feel good story.

Romo can flat out play whether you like it or not and obviously you don't. Calling Romo a feel good story dismisses everything he is as simply a fluke.

Flukes don't put up numbers like he does every year. He may have shortcomings but he's far from a "feel good story."

I never said Romo can't play or is a fluke, so don't try to put words in my mouth to satisfy your angst etc. Romo might be the only undrafted starting QB in the NFL this season and that's the reason why I called him a feel good story, because few QB's have even accomplished that. I don't think he has shortcomings either, but apparently you do.


Care to elaborate on those?
