When you guys draft your fantasy teams, do you just keep drafting Qb's bc they score the most points and are best ay avaialable?Hated their draft strategy
Its clear they had no intention of going BPA
I think they are working on doing that. The speed we have added to this defense is downright scary.I honestly wouldn't mind trying to build an elite defense for once. We've already put tremendous resources into the offense for decades and it has never gotten us past the 2nd round
Exactly, it's potential, measurables, projections, opinions on who really is the BPA. It's always interesting to look at a redraft a few years later to see where things should have played out.Why are you guys so in love with BPA? The BPA at any point in the draft is just one man's opinion. Kiper and Todd's BPA differs quite often, so whose to say Dallas's BPA has to align with what others think. They had holes and they filled those holes. What more can you ask?
Brady was the BPA of the whole entire draft back in 2000. How many people knew that going in? So one BPA for Ying might not be the BPA for Yang. It's all just opinions and it's all just guess work.
So do like Aaron Rodgers say and relax. We don't know how things will turn out until years from now.
How long has Quinn been here? The Rob Marinelli way of doing things didn't work. And that's a fact. But if McCarthy was able to get rid of Moore I think we'd have a coaching staff that could get us over the hump. So the filling of their own holes only through the might work. Because we can all agree that drafting has gotten noticably better since McCarthy took over. It's just that the play calls on offense are still stuck in the pass. They create their own holes, then try to fill them only thru the draft. It's not working.
It was for strengthening the special teamsThey have their grocery shopping list and they just get what's on the list regardless of BPA/value.
This could be a good draft for the long term, but I’m trying to see if it improves us any from last year.
Our secondary and LBer corps are mostly the same. Getting Cox back could offset some of the losses. DE is mostly a wash. We lost Gregory, but we replaced him with Fowler and the rookie Williams with perhaps an increased role from Armstrong. You could even argue we’re worse at DE but I’m fine with calling it a wash.
Similar with WR, you could say we’ve offset losing Cooper with our FA signing and 3rd round rookie along with an increased role from CeeDee. You can even argue we’re worse, but I’m fine with calling it a wash. Then we’re perhaps the same with OL. We lost Connor but replaced him with Tyler. Although Tyler has a high ceiling, it’s no guarantee he’ll be an upgrade his rookie year.
i loved the tyler smith pick.
i wanted treylon burks...once he was gone i was hopin they'd go jermaine johnson or one of the 2 ot's i liked...smith or raimann.
i think smith slides into the og spot and is a monster inside.
our run game got fixed when he got off that bus.
sam williams was a home run.
he gets after the qb...we need more of that.
jalen tolbert was one of my favorite players.
big receiver with good speed.
love those first 3 picks.
They’ll turn out the same way they have for the last 25 plus years. Why are you guys so in love with BPA? The BPA at any point in the draft is just one man's opinion. Prove it.They’ll turn out the same way they have for the last 25 plus years.
Why does everybody assume our BPA or some scouts BPA are THEIR guys or BPAThey have their grocery shopping list and they just get what's on the list regardless of BPA/value.
I have to agree Van. Oh I fully understand the value of BPA in theory, but when you have serious needs, you can't just ignore those needs, they have to be addressed. If they went purely bpa we’d still see the same complaints. I’m ok with the draft because I went in with 0 knowledge of who would even be picked 1st overall

If our owner were semi normal that might happen.I honestly wouldn't mind trying to build an elite defense for once. We've already put tremendous resources into the offense for decades and it has never gotten us past the 2nd round
good point , other teams can have good idea of who cowboys will take, and jump in right ahead of them to get a guy the cowboys might beThey left better players on the board.
Anyone who had Tyler Smith over Jermaine Johnson is dumber than a ******** billy goat with a traumatic brain injury.
And following that grocery shopping list cost them Charlie Kolar.
The Ravens knew the Cowboys shopping list as good as the Cowboys did.

Who's afraid of it? The 49ers?I think they are working on doing that. The speed we have added to this defense is downright scary.
Thata why you fill holes in free agency. If Tyler Smith is an average guard or tackle and Tyler Linderbaum becomes a perennial all-pro, it makes it a foolish pick.BPA sounds good in theory, but it doesn't fill holes. When you lose your LG, you can't fill it by drafting a DE. What makes matters even more difficult is when you don't pick till the 24th position, and you need a strong LG and a QB busting DE both!
I think the Cowboys did a pretty decent job of filling BOTH those holes. They drafted a road grader for LG and a speedy DE noted for his QB sacks. They may not have been Best Players Available, but being stuck with the 24th pick isn't the Best Position Available either.
I think the the Cowboys did alright all considered.
