Just a formality - I expect an extension that makes him the highest paid G in the league in pre-season

While I would really love for the Cowboys to sign Leary, I don't think having 4 large contracts (assuming Martin signed to a multi-year deal) just on the O-line is a good thing.
It would be great if no CBA but reality is you don't need that much at one position

So how much does he make in that fifth year deal?
It will probably be for 9m or so.......it is the average of the top 3-25 OL

The 5th year option is a much better deal for the team when the player was not a top 10 pick.

In 2016, the 5th year option for OLinemen:
Top 10 pick: 11.9M
Pick between 11 and 32: 8.8M

The 2016 Franchise Tag for OL was 13.71M.

Like the Franchise Tag, the 5th year option is inflated for Guards/Centers because OT salaries are included in the calculation.

Good call, I just hope we can lock him up for a long time, we are losing Leary. We need to make Zach a career Cowboy.

I won't complain about keeping Zeke for 10m+ in 2020
