I don't think we'll be able to keep the majority of these players. Flo is going to cost us big.

Not sure how many $10 mil a year salaries we can load onto the boat.

Canty, Ratliff, and Barber all need long term deals. I honestly think that Ratliff is the most important of those three right now.

One name people should add to the list is Columbo - Jerry gave him a "show me another good year and we'll redo this" deal. And Columbo has been very solid. He's going to get a new contract.

I believe Newman and Columbo are signed THROUGH the 2008 year.

I can see Newman being extended early. Columbo though, I think they let him play out his contract and then let Free, McQuistan, or Marten take over. I really believe this is they resign Flo.

Columbo has earned himself a nice contract somewhere, and it was win win for him and the Cowboys.

I see Jones and Jones going, unless Julius signs for a significant amount less than I'd guess he wants. More importantly he thinks he is a feature back somewhere which will never happen here.

We will tender the RFA's with the decent enough offer that it costs other teams high draft picks to steal them.

Barber is a must sign, but I agree that he isn't a franchise back either, just a great part of a rotation (and I absolutely love this guy). He works great in tandem with a speed and agility guy.

I keep saying Flo is a must sign. Too risky to let go while we are in a SuperBowl window of a few years.

Canty and Raitliff I really like. Raitliff has actually proven more, but I just get the feeling that Canty still has a huge upside and is a quiet stud agaist the run. He's still getting healthy and shrugging the rust off. Plus Canty was a fourth rounder and doesn't have massive stats, so I think we will get him for relatively cheap, fair or not.

Let the Jones x 2 walk.....keep everyone else.

To avoid starting another McFadden thread, what if Jerry Jones was looking at Felix Jones as a possible replacement for Julius Jones? Jerry being the businessman will definitely not pull a "Ditka" to move up and get McFadden. IMO, Felix is no slouch.....

I agree ..... Rice or Felix would be great with MB3 ......

Exactly Zrink, I mean the kid runs a 4.3 and is 6'0" tall. IMo, he runs just as hard and at times appears to be quicker than McFadden.

I really doubt that we will re-sign JJ. I think we need a speedier back with vision who can be counted to pick up those necessary yards not only early in the game but also late in the game. OL and our MBIII failed get necessary yardage against the Skins and we forced turn ball back over to them. No way should that have happened.

MB3 is NOT a must re-sign. He's a good rotational back. I wouldn't break the bank for him.

These types of back are found all over the 4th round. We can easily snag another.

Rice, Jones, Mendenhall, and Savage are all viable options, although Savage has some serious size issues.

Is there anyone in this draft built like Maurice Jones-Drew, cause if so, I want him. That guy is a beast and I wanted him when he came out, but instead we took the all world TE known as Anthony Fasano. Jones-Drew sure would have solved our KR issues and he would have made it so we wouldn't have to focus on RB in this years draft. In fact, we picked the Italian Stallion over Marcus McNeil, Devin Hester, and Maurice Jones-Drew in the 2nd round of the 2006 draft. One would have solidified our OL for the future, the other two would have definitely fixed our KR game.....but hindsight is what it is.

OFFENSE
Julius Jones UFA - Time to let him go, you can find a guy with his talent in the 2nd or 3rd round of this years draft. Maybe even later. Not worth what you'd have to pay him since he's a veteran and teams will be looking at him to be their #1 back.

Marion Barber RFA - Clearly he's not going anywhere.

Patrick Crayton UFA - Resign as long as he's not asking #2 money, he's been solid but only that. Stanback will be contributing next year and we should be drafting a WR in the 1st round this year.

Flozell Adams UFA - Resign, Free won't be ready for at least another year, maybe two.

DEFENSE
Chris Canty RFA - Obvious resign

Jay Ratliff RFA - Another obvious resign

Jacques Reeves UFA - Resign, he's shown something, a dependable #3, but he might end up being #4 anyway if we draft a guy.

Nathan Jones UFA - CUT THAT MEAT! CUT THAT MEAT!

Ken Hamlin UFA - I'm fine either way, keep him or let Watkins play.

Keith Davis UFA - He'll be cheap, might as well resign him. I'd hate to think of how much worse our already bad special teams would be without him.

Davis price depends on how much Peyton and Gibbs still want him, I doubt he gets another contract like what we gave him a couple of years ago.

Most Likely Flozell is franchised and Hamlin resigned. I think Barber gets a First round tender and Ratliff and Canty second round ones. Crayton is iffy, he might get a good deal in FA and the Cowboys can most likely replace him, however, Romo seems to like him. Nate will be replaced by Courtney Brown or Alan Ball and JJ's will come from the draft.
