Cowboys fans are having a change of heart around head coach Brian Schottenheimer

:lmao: A person saying they’ll start rooting ONLY when they get to the NFC Championship game is the definition of a fair weather fan. There are many here. A big percentage of posters here are fair weather fans if fans at all. Get a reality check.
It might be me, but to win a superbowl you first must win in the playoffs.

I think it would be more valid to say that more fans have become "fair weathered" not because of the team, but because of the owner / GM.

He can’t do any worse. And if he does we get a top 5 pick.

I don’t understand all the hysteria

If anybody can’t see the enthusiasm, you can feel it. And that’s a great start

Cowboys Survey: What grade does Brian Schottenheimer deserve so far?

The article page's comment section contains a particular post that sums up some fans' sentiment on the matter, in my opinion:

So far, Schotty has been setting expectations. Speaking only for myself, I don't grade goals - I grade how well goals are achieved!

Cowboys fans are nothing if not gullible.
Maybe the newer fans are, but most of us oldsters that been fans since the early days, we understand team building and what winning looks like , or what it SHOULD shape up like, even in the off-season. Right now, it appears we got the hire right, the staff too. That said, it still takes the correct players that have the same mindset and drive. Until we play a game, we won't know. I'm not going to throw the baby out in the bath water after year 1, or year 2 if we hover around mediocrity. I plan on giving the staff a chance long-term to make the necessary changes. It will take years, not one off-season. I do think we will see a spirited tone and renewed vigor. We are already seeing some of that. Yip, some fans are gullible, some content creators are major homers and have only 1 viewpoint. It's entertaining if nothing else lol. We all know who they are. That's what makes following our team fun. Different takes, some outlandish, some crazy takes. That's why we are called fanatics lol. It comes with the territory.

Cowboys fans have really come around on Brian Schottenheimer.

Back in January of this year, when the Dallas Cowboys needed a new head coach after Mike McCarthy’s departure, fans had their own favorites for the job. Suffice it to say, very few fans had Brian Schottenheimer at the top of their list.

When Jerry Jones decided that the Cowboys offensive coordinator was the man for the job, there was a tremendous negative backlash from the fanbase. Many thought the Jones family was just going cheap because Schottenheimer would be a first-time head coach. Others thought Jerry was just hiring a puppet, someone who would carry out his wishes.

In general, it was a time when most thought - what are the Cowboys doing? Fast forward roughly six months, and the feeling is very different.

I will grade how our new hc has done in Jan when we see a) if we mk the playoffs and b) how many playoff games we win. Thats how I’ve judged every Cowboys hc since the early 70s when I started watching every game and that remains how every hc should be graded.

Here are the things that are meaningless about a hc to me as a fan,
  1. He says all the right things
  2. He seems to be affecting the culture and the locker room
  3. The players like him
  4. The owner is “comfortable” with the hire
Post season wins is how every Cowboys hc shall be judged and I’ll weigh in after Jan. Everything else is just celebrating looks and appearances, something that may or may not translate into playoff wins.

All people are not the same. Hopefully, readers will find it acceptable descriptors like 'some' and 'many' to describe any fans, Cowboys any non-Cowboys alike, are factually based and offhand generalizations are not.

The Dallas Cowboys are the one team in all of sports that you can say have the owner, coaches, and players that they deserve.

He is unfairly going to be judged on one thing….if he can he overcome the Jerry factor.

He will need to get past the meddling, what Jerry would “like to see more of,” and being left short at a position or two on the field.

Unfortunately for all of us….as @gimmesix says…No-Schott.

This is meaningsless without knowing how it was before Schitty.

- What were the results 3 months after our last HC arrived?
- what were the results last year for Schitty?
- etc ....

With this stat i could also argue 52% shows that fans have turned their back on Schitty without comparision to how it was before today.
