Cowboys fans are having a change of heart around head coach Brian Schottenheimer

Here are the things that are meaningless about a hc to me as a fan,
  1. He says all the right things
  2. He seems to be affecting the culture and the locker room
  3. The players like him
  4. The owner is “comfortable” with the hire
Post season wins is how every Cowboys hc shall be judged and I’ll weigh in after Jan. Everything else is just celebrating looks and appearances, something that may or may not translate into playoff wins.
If it doesn't lead to results on the field, then did it really matter that he was spending all his time trying to be best buds with everyone in the off season?

They should be getting paid to win games, not for who is the best at paintball or who is the most popular. And if you haven't noticed, there are a few members here at CZ who, like Jerry, don't put much stock into winning anything.

Besides Jerry's dumb decision to resign Dak name other times I've been dead wrong.
Here's something to think about: The Texas Rangers have been far more successful than the Dallas Cowboys since 1996, the year of the last trip to the NFCCG / super bowl. It took them 24 years to even make the playoffs for the first time.

For any Rangers fan who, like me, has been a fan since the early 1970's, it's always been unfathomable that the Rangers would end up as the more popular team in DFW. But here we are - all thanks to Jerry.

Cowboys fans have really come around on Brian Schottenheimer.

Back in January of this year, when the Dallas Cowboys needed a new head coach after Mike McCarthy’s departure, fans had their own favorites for the job. Suffice it to say, very few fans had Brian Schottenheimer at the top of their list.

When Jerry Jones decided that the Cowboys offensive coordinator was the man for the job, there was a tremendous negative backlash from the fanbase. Many thought the Jones family was just going cheap because Schottenheimer would be a first-time head coach. Others thought Jerry was just hiring a puppet, someone who would carry out his wishes.

In general, it was a time when most thought - what are the Cowboys doing? Fast forward roughly six months, and the feeling is very different.

The hype train is rolling.

Just like every other year at this time... rinse and repeat over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
Yes, the hate is unbearable at times. Over ^ 15 power. But can be entertaining as well.

My grade is “I” for incomplete. He hasn’t even coached a practice in pads yet, LOL! Would like to see at least a few regular season games before grading this guy. Maybe even a season.

You don't win with good feelings and press conferences. You win with tactics, player development, etc. that Schottenheimer has a questionable at best history with.
WRONG You have no idea where he's going to do what else has he got to do right now other than OTA's mini camps and press conferences I mean yeah like we could shoot ourselves into the future and then see how those things work out that you listed but as of now we have nothing to go by and people are saying right now this is their feelings and they've changed on looking at what he's done with the offseason so far but you could chime in and try to take a shot at shoddy and it's not going to work pun intended....

Questionable at best??

zero history as a head coach so he gets a clean slate not the little dirty one you're trying to lay out here...good try, fail!!!

So tell me how this is any different than the other first time head coaches you try to tell me that he's different than; Cohen ,ben Johnson ,Aaron Glenn, kellen Moore etc I don't want to hear anything about how they have history they have none it's all TBD but all you could do is what's right now not in the future so right now people have changed their minds about him up to this point that's all we got to go by the players like him the front office likes him and a lot of fans are now giving him a better grade than they did early on....

And by the way it kind of was like that for a lot of coaches Jimmy Johnson had to prove himself here and don't say he was successful in college so it was going to work because no that's not the case we already have guys like Myers and Nick Saban petrino and yeah even Chip Kelly all came and failed and failed hard so they all have to prove themselves they all start from square one..

Let's look back on guys like Dan Campbell hell Nick Siriani had less or at least about the same level of a resume coming into the Eagles and he was even being questioned by his own players in front of office for a while you thought maybe he was going to get fired and now he's a Super Bowl winning head coach and he had zero history that supported hiring him as a head coach....

They haven't even played pre season game yet. You can practically hear the sunshine pump running in the background.
All I hear is negative nonsense coming from the Debbie Downer crowd we don't want to hear your Debbie Downer you have nothing else to go by the same for all the first time head coaches in the NFL right now you can only report what there is to report and right now he's getting a more positive grade than he did from the beginning that's it that's all they're saying no it's calling this super successful and we're going big places look that they're giving the guy a new score his hire immediately didn't get any positive feedback and now there are people that like what they see so far you know the word so far like we can't jump in the future all we can do is report on what's going on now...

Get over yourself there's nothing wrong with being positive at this point because we don't have any live games to judge him by again just like all the other first time head coaches everything is to be determined so let's just move past the nonsense can't let anybody report anything positive or everyone's pumping sunshine no they're actually reporting the way people are feeling..
