Not me. We're a worse team (we won't win the division this year), we didn't get anything, Romo won't get a ring, and the Patriots have a cakewalk in the AFC.

Romo leaving was never going to be easy, and I think most of us were thinking that once he left, the Cowboys would decline for a while until they either got lucky on a draft pick or signed a veteran quarterback that could actually win in Dallas.

That said, having Dak show up last year, even if maybe one or two years early for some fans, could not have been any better for us and given the youth of this team, it looks we may finally have a smooth transition from one franchise quarterback to another after so long.

Look on the bright side. You saved yourself a whole year of frustration. You don't have to think about Cowboys football again until 2018. I think I'll watch anyway, just in case you're wrong. I know A LOT of people that were wrong last year, including me.....

What gives me confidence... Is that when we trot our 3 WRs (Bryant, Williams, and Beasley) with Witten...

Teams will go nickel.

If they keep 2 Safeties back, we will have 6 blockers on 6 defenders in the box, and run Elliott down their throats.

If they creep a safety up, we have 1v1 across the board with a single high safety, and Beasley will get open 9 times out of 10. Prescott can manage that. Our offense is going to going to dominate. We shall see what happens defensively

Even if that premise were true, I am not sure how it would be a bright side.

You gotta believe that our offense will be better this season and our defense won't be any worse. I think we will sign some veteran DBs for depth and the draft will add the talent that our defense has been missing. I'm a believer.

Why do I gotta believe that?

I think the offense will be worse, this year. Leary is gone, and he is a significant loss, even if people don't want to believe it. Right tackle is up in the air. Teams will adjust and Dak won't be as lucky (it takes luck to only have 4 INTs, typically there will be more that are not the fault of the QB - tipped passes, etc.). That's all assuming no significant injuries. Nothing on defense indicates "better."

I'd love to be wrong, but I don't see it. I think the team squandered the best shot at a title last year, and this year at least will be a drop-off.

And from under center we can run an outside zone running play and always have the threat of Dak going bootleg. That means 10 vs. 10 run plays and occasionally burning teams on the bootleg throws.

I'm not worried about some 2nd year slump from Dak main reason is the space between the ears, this kid has shown maturity beyond his years in how he conducts himself and how he handles situations he is thrown in to. In my view the future looks very bright for Dak and the Cowboys.

This is the same Leary that couldnt win his job back from Collins right? I agree its a loss, but Collins has a lot more upside and the money Leary got we would have been stupid to pay with Martin coming up for his pay day.

You must have a lot more faith than I do that the team always plays the best player.

I'm not saying we should have paid Leary on a big contract, but he's still a loss that will be felt. Collins has upside, but he'll have to make significant strides to replace Leary's value.
