I live in NJ I was curious as to what the general consensus of fans are when they call into radio shows. I know that in NJ I get a lot of the NY sports teams so they're always *****ing about the Mets knicks yankees giants jets and things along that nature. So I wonder what would a typical conservation be. Do they call ask for a GM. Does season ticket holders threaten not to renew season tickets. I ask this because I consistently hear people saying us fans don't have a say in how the team is run. However, that isn't true. I'm not suggesting a ridiculous idea such as getting a billboard that's stupid. However, what can be done is the decision to go or not go the games. Buying merchandise or not buying it. Things a long that nature. As long as Jerry Jones has a sell out crowd there won't be any problems and he will continue to run rampant with the team. So Just some feed back would be nice. Fans do matter and you do have a voice its directly related to how you guys go about the merchandise. When was the last time a cowboys home game has been blacked out?

You can support the team or not, living here in Texas I support the Cowboys and will continue to do so. Me being a fan is not based on wins and loses like anyone I enjoy the winning much more than the losing but I don't turn on them during down times

The Cowboys fans in D/FW are no different then the fans in other Major Markets.

On the local radio shows you get all kinds of opinions, similar to what you see on Cowboyszone.

Monday, Michael Irvin played audio from a man who called into one of the ESPN Post-Game Shows almost crying because he was so upset the Cowboys lost.

If the Cowboys don't make the Playoffs this season, this city is going explode.

But like always, we will be back next Season.

The moaning and groaning is the same in Dallas as it is in any city with a sports franchise.

You are not going to get enough people to boycott Jerry to have an influence on any sales/merchandising plans to make a difference. For every person that decides not to renew season tickets there are ten people in line behind that person that will. The same goes for any items that bear the Cowboys logo, for every person that says no there is someone who says yes.

Heres an example,
I've been listening to farmers gripe about buying Monsanto products forever and Monsanto is still rolling along. The gripe is about how Monsanto rapes you on costs and the tech agreement you have to sign.Maybe not the best example since it's not really an apples to oranges comparison, but it's all I can think of at the moment.Point is though, that with all the moaning and groaning that takes place the Monsanto bottom line is as good as ever.

does being a fan mean that you have to mindlessly buy into what they're putting out?

Yeah that makes sense. But if we look at the price of the stadium the current economy and this team. Lets say we don't make the playoffs and Wade is still here.....and we have another draft like last years. Heads gonna have to roll.

What is being (briefly) said in Dallas this week on radio and TV:
  • Newman is not an elite CB.
  • Wade is done.
  • The stadium is not condusive to football.
  • Jerry is out of touch with the fans.
  • Folk should have been cut.
  • Wade is done.
  • The offense needs Austin and Jones to take on bigger roles.
  • D-Ware should play.
  • Ken Hamlin will play.
  • Jupiter Crunch should play.
  • Wade is done. :D
  • Oh, and Dallas has almost no chance against NO.

What do you mean by jerry is out of touch with the fans? No want calling for a new gm?

Multiple discussions on radio have brouched the subject concerning Jerry's vision for the stadium. Fans that have been to home games claim that they are ridiculed and even asked to leave by stadium security if they stand up and make too much noise.

Also, the 3D thing during the game is being questioned. Callers and radio hosts have been debating the motive(s) for Jerry's effort to introduce 3D at such a critical point in the game. Fans claim they lost focus.

Finally, Jerry seems to be more concerned about attracting big prize fights to JerryWorld instead of acting as GM for his team.

Dsiclaimer: Not my opinions, just stated points on radio and TV.

Jerry is a business man and he's trying to expand his business. I think the fans should boycott the new stadium. That sounds like a terrible experience.

A fan is one who supports his team in good time and bad. I may not agree with all moves but I do support the team and do not turn on them when things are going bad. I consider myself a long term hardcore loyal fan, win or lose I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan and I will support them.

The local media is against Wade, always has been, and now with the final collapse has succeeded in generating fan momentum to get rid of him.

Do you think if the Zone pooled it's resources together and went out and got you like a 50$ coffee card, you could go and find another team to support?

It gets cold there in NJ.

At least think about it? K-thx
