Commanders fans? Not so much:

Gems from the first page alone:
2 Jason Campbell articles in a row?

Not only is that not necessary, but it continues to remind me how much I hate that pick.
Please explain your logic.

1) Campbell will be our 3rd QB and barring catastrophe, will not see the field this season. The same way that consecutive articles about Garnell Wilds would be out of place, so are these. He's not our highest draft pick either, so unless these have a bunch of Carlos Rogers content, they are out of place.

2) We gave up 3 high picks for him, yet he may NEVER see the field as a Commander, ever. (What if Ramsey breaks out, as that is certainly a possibility?) If Ramsey does step up, Campbell will sign elsewhere when his contract expires, leaving the Commanders with not one down played for 3 high picks.

Let me tell you why I didn't like the pick regardless of Ramsey's status.

1) He wasn't a very good college QB. Yes he played pretty well last year, but 2700 yards and 20 TDs is nothing special in college. Cadillac and Ronnie Brown accounted for about 2000 yards and 20 TDs, so factoring in Campbell's stats....he did not lead a very prolific offense. If you cannot master the college game in 4 years of starting, you are highly unlikely to succeed in the NFL.

2) The "faith" thing is a little too played up for me. I love Joe Gibbs, but he puts way too much stock in a player's religious intent. Just like our government, Joe has inappropriately brought religion where it doesn't belong.

3) The last time Gibbs made a QB decision, it was to give up a lot for Brunell, and we saw how that turned out.

I don't want to sound too negative, because I assure you that I have higher expectations than most of you for the upcoming season (we WILL be in the playoffs), but I've never hated any transaction as much as I hate this one....
Jason Campbell was unnessary, Patrick Ramsey will show everyone why. the post is being irresponsible and hyping this kid up, it creates a quaterback controversy, when gibbs has already said there isnt one, a qb controversy creates readers, readers generate more money, the paper wins. this isn't rocket science folks,

OH AND BY THE WAY, BEFORE WE DUB JASON CAMPBELL THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST, LETS NOT FORGET THE SAME COACHES, THE SAME PAPER, THE SAME GEORGE MICHAEL SPORTS MACHINE HAS DONE THIS SAME EXACT ****, ABOUT MARK BRUNELL, PATRICK RAMSEY, TRENT GREEN, GUS FREROTTE, HEATH SHULER, JEFF GEORGE, BRAD JOHNSON, IT GOES ON AND ON AND ON, I MEAN IS THE PAPER SUPPOSED TO SAY, 'WHAT THE **** WAS THE TEAM THINKING, THEY'RE ASKING FOR DRAMA
The problem for me with the Campbell pick is that we selected him with a first when he was projected to be a late second rounder. Meaning we might have been able to pick him up without trading away our 06 first rounder. (I am still mad at AZ for taking Rolle).

Now that JC is a Commander we have very little left than to pray he becomes a franchise QB. Patrick is going to be a free agent next year & its going to be hard to justify the FO offering up a big money deal unless he has a Drew Brees type year.
