Cowboys featured in Madden 25

They can tinker with the out of game features as much as they want, but the on field graphics don't look all that much different than they did in 2006. It's sort of embarrassing looking at the graphics in one of the war video games out and Madden. It's night and day. They have added features like "Shading" and minor touchups, but removed fun features like Creating multiple players on a team, creating your own plays, etc. I've always been a big madden player, but I know they are shortselling us as fans solely b/c they have the monopoly and know they don't HAVE to do much different. They even removed the soundtrack last year, which is usually one of the best features.

Totally agree. The player models are pudgy and cartoonish, the running animation is terrible and is a relic from the last generation. I would suggest they let EA Canada make this game, but I dont want to see the 2 Ea Sports games I enjoy (FIFA and NHL) go the route of Madden.

There are a number of legit criticisms of this gen's Madden series, but this ain't one of them.

Not so. All of those pictures present in-game graphics. To claim that Madden still looks the same as it did back in 2005 is simply not true.

You agreed with that statement.

I provided what I believe to be indisputible visual evidence to the contrary. The player models, field textures and lighting are all much better now than they were in Madden 06.

As I stated previously I totally agree that there are legit reasons to criticize Madden. Specifically, the gameplay is nowhere near where it should be at this point. My point was that claiming that the visuals haven't changed much is quite simply false.

EA needs competition and has none. Every year is the same thing. Slightly better lighting/shadows, some polish to the models, and a new Thumb Stick control something or other on offense or defense. All the while removing features that were liked in previous games for some reason.

And the animations have improved even less than the still images. They've added more, but not really improved too much on it.

I loved Madden. If I had Madden 25 I'm quite sure I would play the heck out of it. But this is because its the ONLY NFL GAME available.

I'm simply not going to buy into the Monopoly if it means EA doesn't really have to try very hard each year. I don't want them to have my money =(

There is two solutions, get your Xbox flashed or be related to someone at EA like I am. The online features other than franchise are crap. The offline franchise is better but you still can't include many custom things like creating and editing players during the seasons. The sliders suck and they computer still will throw interceptions four drives in a row or make you turnover the ball just the keep the game close. The numbers on all jerseys are three sizes too big too.


But I still play it given many issues. My copy freezes occasionally too during trade and my roster screens. Just wish I could use custom playbooks everywhere and edit all player stats including changing positions of players.

After all the grief EA caught over the last eight years due to the game looking nothing like the pre-rendered McNabb vid they showed us back in 2005, then to basically come out and use the same approach again?!!

I'm flabbergasted.

The worst thing to happen to football games was EA paying the NFL for an exclusive license. Right after 2K Games cleaned their clocks with a better football game, that was also $30 cheaper.
