The D played well. The DL and pass rush causing pressure, helped the secondary as well as the LB's.
Yes, only PS, but I will take it as a good sign.

Sooooooo...is it the pass rush or the DBs? o_O
I was going to say it's the special teams (the defense can't give up yards when the other team returns kicks for TDs). But we also led by a wide margin in yards allowed per play (a ridiculous 3.7). Clearly, this tells us two things headed into the season: diddly and squat.

Upon checking NFL. com, it looks as though we finished the preseason ranked first in both pass and total defense. I know it's only preseason, but after our struggles there last season, I'll still take it as a great sign of improvement!

That's easy if the opponent is always starting off at midfield. The opponent can score 24 points and yet only have a max of 200yds in passing offense. Too funny.

Preseason, preseason, preseason.

think about it, with most of our starters not playing, rally relying on depth, not a bad sign considering. no one is screaming it predicts a great season, but its healhty to know we can do something with our depth and the guys who fought to get on the roster.

6 days until the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Teflon Pats open the 2015 season.

9 days until the New York Giants come a-callin'.

The preseason will be a distant memory in short order very soon.

true, but we got our information, we got to see who wants it more, we got to see what players bring to the team. So, up until this day, a heck of a successful offseason and a good start to hopefully an excellent season.

I'm most thankful that we exited preseason healthy minus Orlando Scandrick. You're right though. We made good roster acquisitions and the entire team seems supremely focused. These are good signs but now it's almost time for real football. Can't wait.

Yeah, I don't want to drag down a nice-tidbit thread. I guess it's better to be first in the category than it is to be last, for the warm-fuzzies alone. But, really, if you don't believe preseason tells you anything definitively, there's really nothing to hang a hat on.

That said, most of our individual CBs did look good in all the games. I do expect we'll have a much improved pass defense this season. But preseason didn't do much to affect that expectation for me, either way.

I place as much stock in this as I do the overall record and the special teams ranking in the preseason.

From this point forward, I'm interested in seeing how this will turn out. The Giant OL is one that should provide some pass rushing opportunities for the front.

Preseason, preseason, preseason.

Preseason is not important if the results don't reflect my preconceived notions. (Running game and special teams will be fine)
