fellow fanzone freaks--- our first two picks pretty great....then what happened....i have last 3 picks rated 7th rd or free agent and they were picked in 3rd round...i realize no way do i have the connections cowboys
do....and how they rate players....but even with that i am stumped??????

GORICO crying in his wheaties

The Wright pick made zero sense. The others are at least defensible.

Everything after the top 50-60 picks or so is a crap shoot with an incredibly low “hit” rate.

No idea why people get so worked up over 3rd-7th round picks every year. As if they’ve watched film of hundreds and hundreds of players with the requisite knowledge to intelligently do something NFL scouts can’t reliably do.

It’s the height of arrogance and futility. Most of these players will never be heard from, a small number will be meaningful long term contributors on an NFL roster and a handful at most will be studs. There’s often very little that is predictable about who end sup being what after the really high end guys.

This is exactly why I said this team having so many picks didn't matter. All it did was embolden them to take stupid chances and make egregious reaches. Tonight was an abject failure from a talent acquisition standpoint.

I will root for these kids cause it's not their fault, but this front office is having another special teams draft.

I don’t get this draft at all except we took D. They are on their own plane.

Tough for me as my CB and safety I wanted BAD both got drafted legit the pick before us...

Feels bad... love to be wrong but not coming out of this draft feeling warm and fuzzy about the defense getting “better”

Joseph is the only pick of the 5 they made that I would have made. Obviously I'm just a couch scout but I hate this draft especially the third round

When you have 3 third round picks and refuse to move up for a player more likely to make an impact you better at least choose players that make sense

This is exactly why I don't like trading back for picks. This team is awful at drafting defense in the later rounds.

They’re no better or worse across time in these rounds than anyone else

The perception of certain teams being good or bad at drafting in the 3rd-7th rounds is hollow perception. It’s our monkey brains convincing us of things that aren’t so. The data clearly shows that across time every team is more or less just as likely to end up with meaningful contributors in these rounds.

They could have done better. But can live with it for the most part. Except that last pick.
As Norm said, it is not a BPA draft. It is like they told Quinn and his group to go pick whoever.
Maybe it works out though.

Not great, but not horrible, nothing to really whine about, but a few things to question for sure. Except that last pick.

More likely based on what? Who defines what makes sense in these rounds?
