They are calling his number a bunch and he is responding with 3 yard gains. Its time to admit they made a mistake, and just stop trying to fool us fans into thinking that he deserves to be the 3te over Rico.

He can't block and he isn't going to be a receiving threat, so quit punishing Rico who can at least be a threat to catch the ball.

Rico can be a red zone threat, and when you have no proven red zone threats, besides Zeke running the ball, and Dak running the ball. You better make use of a guy who can score tds, when your wr haven't proven themselves yet in the red zone.

It is very obvious the Cowboys are favoring Schultz over Rico. Schultz has had a decent block or two but nothing spectacular like Rico's whole left side, cave in, goal line block. Plus, Rico by far has shown to be the better and more productive pass catching TE between the two. Very obvious there is favoritism at play.

None of the TEs are NFL caliber. They might as well put the huge athletic freak out there and make the other team defend him. He may not block that well so use an extra OL to block as a TE and let Rico run routes. His size and athleticism will demand significant attention from the defense. Swaim, Jarwin, and Schultz are basically slightly different versions of the same player. There is absolutely no need at all to carry all three of them.

it is however a unavoidable decision facing the Cowboys,

not a decision at all, Rico hasnt done it. Why do people keep thinkign their opinons trump the facts? The fact is Rico has yet to do it. Its like Garrett, how long do you give him to prove he can do it? the facts are staring at you in the face. Rico is a legend in a lot of peoples minds, but not on the field.

Shultz hasn't shown much at all, blocking or receiving. Stiil, he's a rookie and needs more time to get stronger and used to the NFL. The biggest question here is, can Gathers spot on the 53 be justified by being a RZ threat?

I wouldn't say force feeding, he just happens to be the checkdown option on a lot of pass plays.

But yeah, he's not delivering much. Dude gets 4 yards and falls down, and I haven't seen him make an impact as a blocker.

Because Rico is an oddity and serious talent and you have to consider what your losing if you release him.
I posted this for discussion Rico has disappointed me too my pet cat
