It depends on the kind of Eagles fan one runs into. I have lived in Philly for the past five years, and I have worn Cowboys paraphernalia without anyone harming me. I have had some arguments with fans, but the ones that I have encountered never took it to a physical extent. You just have to hold your own. I am not brazen enough to wear a jersey to a game, because I have heard too many horror stories, but I have no problem wearing it in public. I see people do it all the time, and the incident with that lady a couple of years ago is an isolated one. I mainly hear about Eagles fan violence at the game.

On another note, I have also had friendly exchanges with some Eagles fans. Many of my co-workers are pretty cool and objective, and they don't hound me if the Eagles beat the Cowboys, and I don't really say anything to them if the Cowboys beat the Eagles.

I spent time growing up north of Philly during the late 70's early 80's. Went with my father w/o Cowboy's swag to a game and had beer thrown at us for not cheering when Danny White was hurt (the beer landed on an innocent family behind us and mayhem ensued). Also saw some Cowboys fans really get abused waiting for a SEPTA train.

Cars with Cowboys stickers are often keyed or worse. As far as bars are concerned... Chickie's and Pete's have damn good food, the atmosphere is rowdy, but there are also a number of bouncers that would probably make it a safe experience for you.

As the great W.C. Fields once stated: "First Prize is one week in Philadelphia... Second Prize is two weeks in Philadelphia..." ;)

Whao, whao! Im from Philly born and raised. And Ive been a Cowboy fan since the days of Dorsett. Yes the love their Eagles and YES the hate the Cowboys but by no way do they endorse violence against any fan. You may get a knucklehead or two but come on yo. As long as your civil and not citing like a jack butt. Anyway yes there are area's I wouldn't go into period. Just be careful and don't act like your a visitor.

Be careful. I know more than one person who got food poisoning in Philly at sports bars after they revealed they were Cowboys fans.

The entire state should be burned to the ground.
Watch it!! I live here too

I agree that their fanbase is probably the reason that pushes my disgust for them over the top of my disgust for the Commanders or Steelers or Giants.

In fact I'm certain that it's the fuel that makes my fire of disgust for them burn hotter than any other team.

I absolutely loath any success for the Eagles because I don't want their fans having anything to be happy about.

Which is terrible of me cause as I've said I know some good people who are Eagles fans who I know I'd be geniunely happy for if they could have something to celebrate but it's completely overshadowed by my complete disgust for the majority of Eagles fans.

One of these years I'm going to wear a jersey, chaps, and a 10-gallon hat to Lincoln Financial Field.

Better not forgot the side holsters and matching nickel plated Colt .45s when you go! :laugh2:

I can't when I'm in Philly, or at the game.

I went to Philly on business back in February last year right after we blew them out in the playoff game. I wore a Cowboys shirt around with my jacket of course. I got a few stares, but that's about it. I was near downtown and stopped at Pat's King of Steaks...pretty awesome Cheesesteaks too.

Of course I asked for opinions from those on this board before i did it. ;)

I was just up there for a few weeks for work. Just walking around with my cowboys ball cap obviously upset the locals! Couldnt imagine hanging out with them on gameday whilethe boys were winning. City of brotherly love my butt! But try Mcgillins Pub over by 12th st. Cool place with good food and drink specials. Look em up in online.

Sorry to read about those incidences. This is the reason why I hope and pray the Eagles NEVER win a Super Bowl title, because I don't think they deserve it. The fans have no class, and they have taken pride in creating an atmosphere in which fans from opposing teams cannot enjoy themselves at the game and fear their safety. As much as I would like to see Eagles fans recieve some payback (so they can get a bad taste of their own medicine), I realize it would not be right to wish any harm on them.

Yeah, Chickies and Petes is a nice restaurant, especially the one in south Philly. I went there earlier in the year to watch the Falcons vs. Packers playoff game. They have t.v.s all over the place, and it seemed like a friendly environment.

I'm going to Philly to watch the Cowboys decimate the Eagles at the end of the month and was wondering if there are any Cowboys friendly bars in Philly to go hang out the night before?

Couldn't agree more! I am a true blue, die-hard Cowboys fan and it absolutely KILLS me that I can't wear my jersey because I may lose my life over it! And to top that, I'm a girl.

Be sure to let us know where you are when you can't wear your jersey.

Just kidding, just kidding !
