CHARLOTTE, N.C.


The Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers will open the season today but the game might be delayed by lightning.
Bank of America Stadium was cleared of all fans and a small group of Panthers players working out about and hour and a half as a rainstorm brough thunder and lightning into downtown Charlotte.
As of 2:30 p.m. (CT), about an hour from the scheduled start time, the stadium field was completely empty of fans, personnel and players.
