Cowboys had a 1st round grade on Quinshon Judkins

I doubt that they had a 1st round grade on Judkins. I think they had a 2nd round grade on him.

Everybody notice just how "devalued" the RB position was?

That might have been a successful negotiating tactic in 2023 but we just witnessed what a productive RB can do for teams.

The NFL is a league of innovation and the winners are the teams that both innovate and develop quick answers to other's innovations.

When it comes to innovation, the Cowboys are like that last place runner in a race, hobbling to the finish line. By the time they get there, another race has already started.

Judkins lacked fluidity to his running style. To me, not a 1st round elite talent. I like both backs we got better. Judkins reminds me of a slower Marion Barber. Has some physicality you love, but no juice. Herky jerky running style. Nice player just not as high on him as others apparently were.

It’s a shame too, because the Cowboys were league innovators for decades. And that innovation is what helped build the early dynasties.

Now, the organization is mostly reactive, following the hot trends started elsewhere.

I’m hopeful that recent hires and changes in approach are signs that times are changing when it comes to innovation and creativity.
