Cowboys had a potential trade for WR

The draft captial required post-2025 Draft, and the extension it will take to lock Pickens in makes it a no go at this point.

Had they swapped first round picks with Dallas throwing in one of their 4th rounders and the Steelers throwing in Pickens, I would have been ok with it. But, the extension would have still been crucial to the trade.

Of course you would say that.

Jerry has you right in the palm of his hand.
Well I don't buy jerrys bs either but the 1st three picks in this draft were as good as they could have done. Also, most everyone in the media agrees so there has to be something to it even if it's just on paper

Glad that everyone is blowing smoke up Jerry’s butt.

Who’s Dak throwing the ball to?

They played it safe. Took no risks.

Been doing that for years and guess what. Abject failure. I want to see some risk. I want to see an owner who wants to win. Not what we have been seeing.

This all started in that Green Bay debacle for me, and he’s done 0 to show me he wants to win since.

Then they go the easiest way possible to hire the HC, don’t even give him what he wants for his “smash mouth football” culture he’s trying to build, and I’m supposed to clap at the draft they just had?

The 2 positions that needed help the most in my opinion are worse than they were last year.

Come back later and explore his best guard, best edge rusher and best corner predictions after the pads come on.
Just waiting for the “Blue is the fastest RB in the class” and “Mingo is going to be our number 2 and really step up this season”

I assume the Steelers wanted a 2nd, they didn't have one, and probably asked for what Metcalf was traded for.

We aren't a WR away and Pickens is a head case. I had him in fantasy last year and followed his year closely. Even when he was in there was no guarantee of production. 7 games he had under 60 yards, didn't crack 1,000 yards (had 900 exactly) and he had 3 TD's.

We aren't a WR2 away from Superbowl contention... no thanks to Pickens. Let see what Mingo/Tolbert/Turpin have and then address it next offseason/draft.
You were expecting production from the combo of Justin Fields and Russell Wilson?

This was a 2 year rebuild - they couldn't draft everything they needed in one season. Additionally after you got into the 2nd, which was one of the best picks in the draft, the wrs in the 3rd and beyond were wr3s ( we need a wr2)

They will sign Allen and they will be in a good spot to be semi competitive this year- 2026 is the yesr they will have a realistic chance.

I mean they've already had Coop, CD and a pre injury Gallup at the same time.
What did that accomplish?
Even a Ced Wilson at the WR4 on the same squad.

Just mayyyyyybe it might not matter about WR2 production as much as some of you think.
I would agree with this if we had an elite RB.

Pickens is a jagoff. No thanks.
Pickens doesn't effect my personal life with his stupidity so I could careless. What he does with the cowboys? I could still careless.

The cowboys are my team but I am not that emotionally invested in them like some. Id give Pickens a chance especially with a potential running game looming.

Lamb
Pickens
Turpin

Mafa Or Williams
Blue

This team has nothing to lose. Make it happen. If he acts a fool then oh well. Doesn't hurt me one bit. With the 30 plus years of tomfoolery by this organization, who cares.

I would absolutely roll with what we have rather than bring in a head case like Pickens. Hard pass.
