Cowboys' Hardy 'invincible' but limited
Mike Fisher

http://www.foxsports.com/southwest/story/dallas-cowboys-greg-hardy-training-camp-073015

OXNARD, Calif.
- Defensive end Greg Hardy is not supposed to talk to the media at training camp, by order of the Cowboys. And he's not supposed to get injured, by order of himself, as he proclaimed while being limited in Thursday's camp-opening practice, "I'm invincible!"

But he did visit briefly with a pair of media outlets, including FOX Sports Southwest, to downplay what seems to be a cartilage strain of his left midsection.

"I really don't know what you're talking about, so I cannot intelligently answer the question," Hardy said, laughing, when we asked him about the injury. "And we all want to be intelligent about ourselves."

The Cowboys plan to examine the controversial Hardy on Friday morning, but the injury is not presently seen as serious.

Hardy is still considering appealing his four-game suspension for involvement in a domestic-violence case, but in the meantime has earned it nothing but praise from the Cowboys. Coach Jason Garrett said he had to order Hsrdy to slow down his offseason work because he was going "too hard" in workouts.

"He's a guy that is really committed to being the best that he can be," Garrett said. "I think he wants to be a part of something special. I think he wants to come to work every day and show his teammates what he's all about in terms of his work ethic and what he can bring to our football team."

I'm always worried about these guys that sit out a year like he has and try to comeback after not playing.

Rolando McClain same thing.

Out of football..

comes back..

breaks down and struggles.

Hope Hardy isn't that too.

Hardy is a player that should maximize recovery work as well as be able to bear extreme potential pain to show up at his own skill set.

Defense will be a Top 5 unit this year, we play GB in Dallas in the NFC championship game and play the Colts in the SB.

Would love to play the colts in the SB after how me dismantled them last year, and yes, I realize this a completely different year but I feel we're a much better team with more overall growth.

Rolando McClain same thing.

Hope Hardy isn't that too.

I thought the same

But hardy will automatically be missing some games with at least 4.... not to mention he will be rotating at DE unlike the Mike lb which comes out very little

rolando didnt break down, he just never wanted to practice. any little discomfort he would be with the trainers. when will people unerstand he did this all the way back to alabam? I seriously think he doesnt really want to play football but need the checks

I think he gets injured enough that limited practice is not a bad idea at all for him. Some players need their practice. Others do just fine without it. Emmitt was limited in practice although he was almost always there. There have been others here and elsewhere going way back who sought to avoid or self limit practice and then played at an All Pro level.

Doesn't bother me at all. Obviously you can't have too many of those guys though and I'd prefer the team to force a player to limit themselves.

I'm more upset about the off field stuff esp the suspension from that one off field thing problem. Losing playing time is huge for me.

I agree with you to an extent but his play on the field says otherwise. I just think he doesn't like to practice or play unless @ 100%. Off season passion definitely lacking and wish he worked on his stamina, but feel he enjoys the game once the "real" whistle blows as shown with his almost cocky/aggressive attitude out there (he's definitely the leader of us vs them mentality we saw out there that was lacking previously). So a lazy but talented player that would prefer to use his current tools at game time but rarely anywhere else (off season camps/practices, etc.) Definitely should be looking to draft his replacement next off season if not hand it to Hitchens, etc.

McClain may have slowed down towards the end of the season, but he didn't at any point struggle. Furthermore, Hardy lives and breathes football while McClain looks at it as a job. I don't expect Hardy to have any ill effects, though it may still take him a while to get into game shape.

Ro doesnt need the checks, he has millions in bank, he had 23 million G with oakland in a 40 mil deal, not sure if he played that out, if he did even more $.
He plays cause he likes to play, not practice, and jerry told him that he should make the big bucks while he can, and add to his pile.
He is conflicted, as he wants to play , but also wants to smoke pot, and he cant do both.
I think it is better to play him sparingly in early season and save him for dec and playoffs, other wise he might run out of gas like last year.
