Lee being 30 surprised me. I feel he has barely played.

Weird that Witten is only 34 after all this time. Him coming in so young is going to let him pad those stats.

I dont know what to make of this data, there is a 2 year average age difference between the oldest and youngest team. I have no idea how it translates to future wins. In order to analyze they should break down the data with weighting the QB position the highest, followed by other money positions. Not sure what the order would be after QB, but I would include, LT, CB, WR, DE and MLB, towards the top of the analysis. That would essientially make up your core with 3 positions on each side of the ball. If you have youth and talent at each of those positions you should project to be competitive in the upcoming years. However, things change so fast in the NFL its hard to predict.

The Cowboys could essientially hit with Dak, have Jaylon fully recover, and draft a young de in the first round next year and suddenly they go from looking good from 2 future positions to 5.

This was Garrett's goal. Get rid of the geezers wherever possible.

  • I'd b careful of standing down wind of Jerry. He's getting kinda old.
  • Very little love for the D on that boat.
  • They are gonna go in circles if they don't get more guys to row on the other side.
  • They got the boat balance all wrong. The heaviest guys are at the front and they should be at the back. Who's the dang captain of this boat. Smh

I agree. its like when they do the scoring defense and yards defense, you always expect a larger gap.

It's good and bad. Young for the future but less experienced. But at the same time better because now isn't looking so good.

Lee being 30 surprised me. I feel he has barely played.

Justin Durant and Brandon Carr will not be on the roster next year.

Doug Free could also be in danger next Spring if Chaz Green develops, 68 might be asked to take another pay cut if he wants to stay.

Over the past 12 months, five players over age 30 have been churned. Brandon Weeden (32), Jeremy Mincey (32), Tyler Clutts (31), Mackenzy Bernadeau (30) and Nick Hayden (30). Weeden is the only player currently on a NFL roster.

Looking at our current roster, there are 15 players currently over the age of 25 that may not remain with the team next season.

1. QB Tony Romo (36) - I expect him to return next year, but there are obvious health concerns.
2. RT Doug Free (32) - He probably stays, be it with a pay cut or not, but it bears watching.
3. CB Brandon Carr (30) - Scheduled for unrestricted free agency, he's not coming back.
4. LB Justin Durant (30) - Added late due to injuries, unlikely to return next year.
5. QB Mark Sanchez (29) - Add late due to Romo's injury, not a lock to finish this season with team.
6. SS Barry Church (28) - Unrestricted free agent is well liked by coaches, but we need to get younger and more athletic here.
7. DL Jack Crawford (28) - Unrestricted free agent well suited to reserve role, could return if no big offers are made.
8. DT Terrell McClain (28) - Injury prone player with talent playing for a new contract, will he suddenly stay on the field?
9. LB Andrew Gachkar (27) - Reserve LB, special teams player unlikely to get re-signed next off-season.
10. G Ronald Leary (27) - will leave as unrestricted free agent for starting job elsewhere.
11. WR Brice Butler (26) - Reserve wideout playing for a new contract here or elsewhere.
12. CB Morris Claiborne (26) - Reserve corner is finally healthy and might end up starting, playing for his next contract.
13. RB Lance Dunbar (26) - Injury-prone utility player playing for a new contract.
14. OL Joe Looney (26) - Reserve interior OL will be in final year of contract next season, is by no means a lock.
15. Terrance Williams (26) - #2 wideout will be looking to get paid on the open market next Spring, unlikely to be in team's budget.

Some of these players will be back next year, but most of them will not. This group will primarily be replaced by our 2017 rookie class.

I dont know what to make of this data, there is a 2 year average age difference between the oldest and youngest team.

The 2.07 year difference in Team years translate to 110.24 player years.

The Falcons are over 110 years older than the Rams.
