Cowboys have a lot of flexibility finishing the OL Rebuild

Ever since he dominated the senior bowl I’ve been trying to figure out how to fit Dawand Jones onto this roster. I think he could be amongst BPA at 26 and prefer him over Wright. Idk if Dawand or Steele could kick inside to guard long term.

I really don't think Dawand at 26 is a stretch. He looks like a legit starting RT.

It's no secret the Cowboys want to fix their running game this offseason with not picking up both our OL/RB coach's contracts, also could of played a role with the departure of OC, Kellen Moore. Not only do they need better personnel, but they have to devise a better rushing scheme that works hand in hand with their passing offense. It starts up front with the offensive line:

-Tyler Smith/Terrence Steele both have proven to be long-term pieces, where both can man the Tackle positions for the future, but also have flexibility to play Guard in a pinch.
-Has Tyler Biadasz earned a 2nd contract as his contract is set to expire after the 2023 season? Believe the jury is still out, where we cannot rule out the team upgrading the position.
-Tyron Smith might have another season with the team, how much longer can we expect how of Zach Martin, who will be 33 during the season?
-How is our depth behind the starters? Farniok is a solid G/C reserve, but neither Ball/Walesko has taken the next step thus far.

Needs

-1 Impact starter, at Guard or Tackle, versatility to also play Center is a huge plus.
-Another G/T Reserve, one who can spot start when called upon to compete with our other two prospects.

-Watch the Browns G/C Ethan Pocic in Free Agency. He was with both Schott/Solari in Seattle.
-Some prospects that fit: Torrence Florida (Power), Mauch G/T/C-North Dakota State (Speed), Avila G/C TCU (Power), John Michael Schmitz Minnesota-best Center
-Tackles-Broderick Jones Georgia, Anton Harrison Okla (Both are probably outside our range), Darnell Wright Tenn

If we are unable to land those 2 top tackles or Torrence in rd 1, both Mauch/Avila would be great fits on day 2.
Are you aware that Biadasz made the pro bowl this year? Maybe instead of downplaying the guy like you have done his entire career just man up and admit you were dead wrong about him.

I wouldn't rule out Mauch, where I've seen some have him rated higher then Torrence.
He was impressive in 1 on 1's. He's super quick, good hang usage, and plays mean. I like him a lot, and he can play across the line.

Pro bowl means nothing these days, he’ll the Raven backup made it, play just a handful of games. Biadasz has definitely improved, but I’m not sure they can keep everyone as Steele us also up the same offseason

Pro bowl means all you guys that cried over the last 3 years about how bad he is got it wrong.

Man up! Or dont.

I was wrong to some degree as I think he is more then serviceable and solid
He is definitely more than serviceable and solid. He is a good center. Now will he ever be GREAT? Debatable.

Personally I think Center is the 2nd most important position on the Oline. You need a GREAT one.

Unless they decide to take the cap savings on Tyron, I don’t know that they need to spend to draft capital or cap dollars on a top OL.

Tyron-Tyler-Biadasz-Martin-Steele looks like a nice starting five to me…and one that can run block with the best lines in the league. That’s without one single move.

Don’t want to count on Tyron to play all 17 games? That’s fair, but then Tyler goes to LT and Farinok to LG.

Depth is very important there, and if they want to stay ahead of Martin quitting or Biadasz becoming too expensive, and the draft falls the right way, go ahead and take one high. It’s tough to go wrong that way.

But otherwise I don’t see it as some sort of must rebuild situation.

I agree, but not sure he will ever be an elite center in this league. He isn’t our biggest concern right now, it’s who starting next to him and how they handle Steele coming back from major injury

Dont ever see him being elite.

Just not sure about his feet to play OT in the NFL. Looks a little heavy footed.

Can he play G or too big?
My first thought is too big... he'd be too tall to get leverage, and I don't know if he is mobile enough to pull and hunt LBs. He'll be an interesting Combine watch, just to see what kind of an athlete he is.

I may or may not have been wrong about him, I don't know yet. I was ecstatic and hopeful when they drafted him, disappointed watching him play the first year, worried early in year 2 but slightly encouraged by the end of the year, I was impressed watching him play in year 3 and now I'm optimistic for the future. But he probably wouldn't keep me from drafting a guy who would be a stand out like Schmitz if given the chance.

Todd Archer says CB round one pointing out the Brown ( FA & injury ) and Lewis injury situations .
