News: Cowboys have had talks with Collins about moving back to guard

So, wth were they doing having LC play RT last year?

So, should Will Hernandez scrap his visit?

We'll just see how this plays out, but if this move were to happen I like th experience of th bunch.

Well maybe they think he will be another Larry Allen and play all positions minus center..... :omg::facepalm::thumbup:

Their solution to everything seems to be let's change your position.

Maybe that's why they aren't worried about Witten situation. Dak can just play TE if this whole QB thing doesn't work out.

What other players have they had change positions?

Not sure how I feel about this. I thought he did a decent job for his first year playing against a murderers row of pass rushers.

That being said, if this is what gives us the best 5 then it has to be done.

I think he could make the pro bowl at guard or center. The issue is he needs to stay at one or the other to get there. Allen played OG for years before they started moving him around.

I think that is what this coaching staff is missing. You let the player get good first then start moving them around once they have that confidence.

Now that being said, it really boils down to who is better in Martin and Fleming or if they draft an OL high. Green was not amongst the 5 best last season as evidence by Coopers superior play at OG. I do see the merit in putting the 5 best on the field still.

Collins was in his way to being one of the best right tackles in the league. If Fleming was the player that some of you think he is, then the Patriots wouldn't have let him walk with that cheap of a contract. Considering that they lost their starting left tackle, it is hard to believe that they let a starting tackle walk. Something is not adding up with the off-season that the Patriots are having.

God, I hope not. Can someone step-up and tell us that Collins was bad or even average his first year as a tackle? Can that same person then go on to say that Fleming is a sure-fire better option at RT than Collins? I at least want to hear that argument flesh-out on this forum.

I don't care about what goes on at the LG position, I want the best RT we have on the roster and I believe that it's Collins right now and especially once he gets into his second season at the spot. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Relax, they are setting themselves up to draft best player available. If it's a guard, La Collins stays at RT. If it's not a guard, La Collins kicks inside and Fleming is the RT. Instead of giving the front office credit for covering all the basis and being prepared, you guys just want to ***** about something.

Keith Smith is another....changed from LB to FB.

I don't have a problem with them moving Collins back to G if it gets the best 5 OL on the field. I do think getting him back in between Frederick and Smith could make this a dominant line again. In addition it is easier to help a guy on the outside so they could help Fleming a bit I do think Collins did a good job a year ago so I would also be fine with them keeping him at T. I guess a lot depends on whether Martin can be a competent starter at G.

Stephen Jones said the best 5 get on the field, regardless of position.

Its pretty obvious our best 5 are Smith, Frederick, ZMartin, Collins, and Fleming.

As far as who starts where, its to be determined..............but those 5 guys are your starters, barring OL in the first.
