Which is what I thought we were trying to do. Somehow we got derailed wanting to prove Dak was worth elite money with a top passing offense but it’s not winning football for us.

It's sad to say that the cowboys under Dak played better ball with Jason Garrett as he was more run friendly. Now don't get me wrong Garrett should have been fired years before however he was working with literally piss poor defenses that was the achilles heel for the longest time.

Problem is Jerry and co think Dak is better then what he is. They would rather see 40+ passes a game and stupid stats then control ToP and wear out defenses.

Romo is a quarterback you build around which by the time they did was to late. Bar a year or two. Dak is someone you hope drives the bus in the right direction without crashing

For years this era we were defined by one of the best OL in the league and a dominating running game.

Somewhere along the line we have aborted that . This season we were 11-0 when rushing for 100 yards of more.

Our running game opened up our passing game while masking our weaknesses on defense controlling time of possession keeping our opponents offense on the bench.

But we begin believing our qb and passing game was our strength . Maybe it was by design wanting to validate a contract. IDK but we need to get back to our strengths which this team was built on.

I’d define this era since our OL became a strength. About 2013 when we drafted Martin who complimented Smith.

We didn’t get away from it by choice we got away from it because the offensive line isn’t good anymore. It’s an average at best line. Cant run. Cant pass protect.
