They were reasonably decent against Miami, but they haven’t stopped much of anyone since Thanksgiving. Think for a moment about how many punts they’ve actually forced.

This is quintessential Dan Quinn. He pulls the same disappearing act every year. And I was excited when he was hired. @windward was right. Again. She’s always right.

I'd give the D a thumbs up against Miami.

I think the D, and therefore the team, was destined for a drop off. Bland had 5 defensive TDs. That's huge.

The defense still can’t make critical stops in big December games. Penalties and not being able to get to Tua with the game on the line did us in last week. The offense did just enough but we couldn’t hold them.

To be fair, the offense essentially managed just 3 points against Buffalo ignoring a trash TD at the end. I'm not minimizing the problems on the defense, but the offense sure isn't helping them out either.

Two things can be true at the same time.

The offense can be insufficient the last two weeks AND the defense can have a drop off since week 13. It's not an either/or thing, unless one has an agenda.

so yea a dumb stat that makes no sense. Basically the same as PFF type crap. Give me PPG stats not... Expected points given up per qb drop back completion rate on throws 3 - 9 yards expected over average on QB's in top 15 % of passer rating ability's.

The lack of sacks has been the most glaring weakness to me. And no thats not something we can attribute to Hankins being gone.

Team is avg 1 sack per game over the past month. They were at almost 3.5 per game prior..need to get back to what they do best, getting after the QB and taking the ball away.

To be fair it doesn’t help that teams have realised that they can just hold one of the best pass rushers in the NFL and they won’t be penalised. No holding calls in 10 games against Parsons is laughable I could show at least 5 in every game he plays and some are so blatant it’s quite embarrassing. Hard to get to the QB when somebody can just cling onto your neck with no reprisals
