Cowboys have only 14-16 picks with 1st round grade on their board

My goodness.......

So reading between the lines....if Linderbaum is one of the sixteen 1st Rd picks and still there at 24 he'll presumably be top of our board.
Do we overlook the issue of size and arms in favor of the tape that says he plays regardless of physical 'limitations'.
I suppose we could sign a veteran FA like Trai Turner, whose mobility issues and lack of pulling would be more than overcome by Lyderbaum's reads and mobility ??

I figured as much already. Not to shocking to most that there isn't that many blue chips in this draft.
This makes taking Linderbaum at 24 a very real possibility, if he's even still there.

This is the case most years

I don't think a team has ever come out and said "we have 32 players with first round grades"

My former scout friend has told me that his team and other teams place players in tiers vs. rounds. You could have players in 15 or however many tiers and teams use that as their draft board.

I remember him telling me that in the 2002 draft, they only had 4-5 players in Tier 1, then maybe a dozen in Tier 2, etc. There's no limit to the number of tiers or how many players are in them.

I think the general consensus is this draft has depth but is light at the top. That being said, every team board can very depending on scheme and willingness to draft players with character concerns.

I expect days 1 & 2 to be very interesting with teams moving around.

There really is no one in this draft that everyone is panting for.
There are several excellent first rd talents but that is all.
I question the depth perception frankly.
To me this is overall a fairly weak draft at most positions. There is a very good amount of O line talent; to me the strongest position group of this draft.

They may not have a 1st round grade on him. Think about it, almost every mock has him somewhere between 20-25 picks. So if we only 1st on 14-16 at the 24th spot.......do the math (lol)

Just my $1.02 worth (inflation)
Real first rd grades in this draft I am thinking 10-12. 2nd rd grades maybe 20-25. I kid you not. its arguable that by the beginning of the 2nd rd you are starting to look at prospects with third rd grades.

Well if we dont have a first round grade on him then linking the OP with the Braoddus quote is an unconnected mute point. There are plenty of 2nd Rd grades we have and lets be honest Bryan has mentioned Linderbaum/Cross/Karlaftis/Ingram for months and perpetually rehashing the 'trade up' opportunities. He also wants to steer the conversation away from Johnson and Green neither of which he particularly likes.

Another way to look at it ..........Jerry could be prepping fans for a possible trade-up. Remember they mention yesterday thinking outside the box? That tells me a possible trade-up or they targeting a player/position none of us see coming.

My point....

Jordan Davis, yes, but Linderbaum falling in so many mocks. But then again I suppose it may be a double, double bluff....as we may think the Eagles will take him so we pretend there's no interest (dont even invite him on a 30) lull them into thinking he'll fall to them and then we pounce??
