Please Keep in mind I'm comparing the size of our D-Line to the Colts and other teams that run the Tampa 2 Defense. I'm not as sure about our linebackers.

D-Line:

R. End: Ware, Ratliff

RDTs & LDTs: Ferguson, Tank, Spears and etc. (We have a lot of other guys on our roster who play DE that would fit perfect as a DT including Canty, Ratliff, Bowen, and Hatcher.)

L.End: Ellis, Spencer

We would have a lot of depth at D-line.

Lbs I'm not so sure about. our Lbs need to lose at least 10 pounds.

LBs:

Will (WLB):Burnett or Carp, Rogers

Mike (MLB);James, Aydoele

Sam (Slb);Carp Or Burnett, Rogers

Yeah we brought in Wade Phillips cuz of his expertise in the 3-4... yeah let's switch to a freakin' 4-3.

The 3-4 is garbage! It should only be used as a change of pace defense.

Our defense did a lot of moving around earlier in the year, but as the weeks went on, we stayed in the same base D most of the game.

Front 7 is not the problem. Tons of talent, tons of depth. Still has upside.

Problem is Secondary. Problem has been secondary for probably the last 4 years. 3 and 4 years ago, we'd give up the huge play, the long td. Last 2 years we give up the dink and dunk to death. Big cushions and 1 or 2 guys just unable to cover and limit the bleeding.

Part of the problem 3-4 years ago, and even 2 years ago (Parcels last year), was lack of pass rush, although the secondary was still a bit part of it.

This last year it was secondary, pure and simple. Dink, dunk, lob it between Roy and Reeves, or Roy and Henry.

the problem is the secondary...give the pass rushers one extra second and this defense will dramatically get better. That one extra second will come when we get rid of this stupid soft zone....we will get rid of this stupid soft zone when we get better personell at CB. Forget safety....we need CBs. I would get rid of Reeves, Jones and maybe henry. We need a blue chip rookie and a starting quality veteran and then a developing rookie.

I believe the Dallas Cowboys needs to go back to the traditional defensive in 4-3 Doomsday. I think Cowboys needs a change of mind from the 3-4 Steel Curtain Steelers defense. How far has time come?

I agree. This 3-4 is useless these days. I've never been a fan of it ... especially when our best passrusher is forced to cover.

We have the personnel to return to the 4-3. Let's get it done ... and while we're at it, get Philips a 4-3 DC.

I'd like to see this done. Ratliff, Tank, and Spears at DT's.

Hatcher, Canty, Spencer, Ware, and Ellis at DE's. Though Ellis may be the odd man out on this one.

Carp would probably be a better fit on the outside of a 4-3 D.

I remember during the broadcast of the Game with Giants Sunday that we did feature a traditional 4-3 look on some defensive plays.

Wade Phillips is a 3-4, even if we do have the personnel for a 4-3, we will not change it.

Both schemes are very effective and Super Bowl teams in the past have employed both, you just have to have the talent to make it work.

50% of the teams left vying for the Super Bowl run the 3-4.

Sigh ... would have been nice if our 3-4 were there too. :(
