Jerry said, and fans think that it is etched in stone that we would never take a 1 tech in first round. I enjoy buy that for a second. I just think we covet the other 3 positions more for their pass rush ability, and hence value.

Having said that like Garrett said in last press conference "nothing is fine." They can improve on Hayden and this is the 2nd 1 tech they have looked at in a week. The first being Tyeler Davison from Fresno State.

Sign Paea who played for Marinelli in Chicago.

I said I thought we would be.

Based on tape alone, this guy belongs nowhere near the 1st round. Based on potential, he's top 15. That's how much of a question mark this guy is. Plus, he had back surgery just a couple years ago and missed the season for chronic back issues.

Would not be surprised at all if he has good workouts at the combine and shoots up boards, similar to Dontari Poe a few years ago when the Chiefs selected him at #11 overall.

Need to see more tape, but really not impressed. I really don't see us taking this guy.

I wonder how he knows Dallas is looking at Phillips? Did someone in the franchise tell him (doubtful) or is George guessing because Dallas needs DL and Phillips is a local guy (more likely).

Obviously I don't know but i doubt seriously George knows much of anything at this point about who Dallas is targeting.

Phillips isn't really like what Marinelli typically looks for in a DT. Certainly not in the first round. Now if he slides to the 3rd round or something, then maybe... but I just don't see Dallas wanting this guy.

A guy that interests me more in the middle rounds is Louis Trinca-Pasat, the Dt out of Iowa.

Greta motor, team leader, really seems like a guy Rod and Jason would like. If anything he might displace Hayden off the roster.

If we are going to get a 330 pound guy like that, I would much rather go after Terrance Knighten in free agency. With the DT free agent class this year, I think he won't go for as much as he is probably worth and man can he play. Phillips might be as well... but... hard to take that chance.

After watching that, no thanks. Either TCU has the best center in the game or this kid cannot disengage from blocks at all. They singled him up quite often and were still able to wash him out of almost every play.

I will admit though, he moves like a much smaller man. He flashes serious athleticism but I don't see him producing for a few years. I do think, with that athleticism and first step, he could be a monster under the right coach once he develops some more moves. I wanted to see him in a stunt, really give him a chance to show that athleticism.

If Marinelli is interested in this guy, I have no idea what Marinelli wants in a DT. We've passed on this type of player for years. He's a battleship.

I think it's more like he was a surprise entry and the scouting department didn't have a complete work up on him. Probably do the same with the other redshirt Sophs.
