He will be calling plays, so in a way, he is coordinator. Adams' hiring just shows IMO the direction that No-Schott wants to go with his play-calling, establishing a strong run game to take pressure off the passing attack.

Not so much my point though. I thought they'd stop after Schottenheimer because they were too lazy and cheap to go not just put it all on him.

I just hope the guy can get back on the field at 100% at some point
Yes.

I hope so too. I really wish him the best. Seems he has a strong character. He will need that to go thru rehab.

If not for his embarrassing Veneers and his sunglasses he wears during interviews the guy is fun to whatch and very likeable.

I'm a bit stunned with the number of staff changes that we'll be seeing this year.
The degree of adjustments will be somewhat demanding, to say the least. :omg:

The membership hereabouts has not been patient. They had better do so now!
I think most everyone supports a house cleaning and the pain it takes to do it for a cleaner house.

I know I know! Jerry.

:)

I kind of figured that's where you were going. I figured they would hire either a passing game or running game coordinator because they are not as cheap as some like to believe. I mean, for McCarthy, they hired like 20 analytics people. I'm sure that wasn't cheap, even if they hired the ones who would come cheapest.

This is what happens most places when a new head coach is hired. We just aren’t used to it because Jerry has always wanted new coaches to work with whatever he still had under contract to save money…lol
You do know that if a coach is let go under contract. And gets hired by another team, rather college or the NFL. Jerry is no longer obligated to pay that coach, if their pay is equal or higher. If less then he only pays the difference. And most coaches will get hired elsewhere.

So when Kellen Moore was let go. Why no complaints. But since he was paid more by the Chargers, Jerry owed him nothing.

I felt like defense got better last year as they learned the scheme. Probably be the same this year too

He's cheap over all, but it seems in particular when it comes to outside FAs and HC. He appears to be fine with paying coordinators. I don't understand it, but when he spoke of dead coaching money it lined up with that belief.

I remember the analytics push by McCarthy. I dont know it helped him though. He sure fed us on his analytics and film review.

Analytics certainly didn't make him a great decision-maker.

In a way that’s ok , we need to break up everything and start fresh , but Jerry needs to hand off the players to coaches and not meddle.

Yeah I wish he could have analytics his way into managing the clock as well. Lol

At one point last off season I wondered if we were taking a "money ball" approach to the roster. Turns out we were just cheap and lazy lol.

Who's complaining? I was never happier than when Kellen Moore left. I would have paid him to leave. There has always been a running joke about Jerry not allowing head coaches to choose their own staffs, and there's a running joke about how cheap Jerry is when paying coaches, although that one never made sense to me since he often paid assistants and coordinators more to keep them around and dissuade them from pursuing head coaching jobs.

No one is complaining.

Not sure Jerry is willing to pay coordinators well unless they are name guys that have been on the staff and might leave. I mean, he wanted Choice to take a pay cut from 700K to come here. In the grand scheme, would it have been crazy for him to match or exceed that by a little if we really wanted him? It is clear that Choice was interested in the Cowboys job. Adams is basically getting a raise which is a step up for him.
