It does now. 4 playoff games, all in the Landry era, 3 wins, 1 loss.

Division record in shutout games

Commanders 3-0
Giants 2-1
Eagles 1-2

With all of our domination of the Cards....we never shut them out....that amazes me, cause they had some lean years in the 70s and 90s.

I call when a team scores 40 or more and shuts out the opponent a "perfect game." Just something I made up myself. Unfortunately theyve never gotten one, close but not quite. They had it done to them by the Bears. Boy do I remember that one.

So do I, and I still think the '85 Bears were the best football team I've ever seen, not the 2007 Patriots. Sure they lost to Miami and weren't perfect. I still think they're the best I ever saw.

I'd probably agree with that....as dominant as people think New England is, they are not close to how dominating Chicago was...not only did they lead the league in total defense and scoring defense, they finished 2nd in scoring offense and 1st in rushing offense...they also had nearly 70 sacks for the season...they had two shutouts during the regular season and two more in the playoffs...only 5 out of 19 games did they give up 17 or more pts...amazing...

and that defense was #1 in total defense 3 straight years (84-85-86) and in 84 set the single season record for sacks, I think they had 72 that yr

5-0 final score in a playoff game......

The Lions played very good defense back then.

And that was an era where the running game was dominant.

Especially the 1975 Cardinals, with Jim Hart and Terry Metcalf, which won the NFC East.

This from Wikipedia:

During the mid 70s, the franchise was characterized by exciting close games, come-from-behind nailbiters, and several frustrating near-misses. The press and league fans began to call the team the "Cardiac Cardinals". Team stars from the 1970s included Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Roger Wehrli, wide receiver Mel Gray, and running backs Terry Metcalf and Jim Otis.

On Thanksgiving Day 1976, the Cardinals suffered a controversial loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Cardinal tight end J. V. Cain, running an apparent game-winning route, was shoved out of the end zone by Dallas defensive backs Cliff Harris and Charlie Waters in what appeared to be obvious interference, but a penalty was not called[6]. With this loss, the Cardinals were dethroned from the divisional lead and became the first NFC team to reach 10 wins without qualifying for the playoffs.

How many "Old Timers" remember that 1976 game?:D
