I like any comparison to the 1970’s Cowboys.
This is not only an extremely talented defensive unit but also very young. These guys should be solid for years to come.
if we can get the stupid penalties under control this unit can be elite.

I would 100% try to resign Wilson out of that group. He's missed some time, but when he's out there, he's probably the 2nd best secondary player behind Diggs. We've finally made it to the point where safety play is a strength and I'd hate to compromise that by letting a playmaker go.It's weird to me to think several players may leave in FA next year and the defense not miss a beat (that is, if Quinn doesn't leave). Mukuamu replaces Hooker, Bell replaces Wilson, Clark replaces LVE, Cox replaces Barr and Williams replaces Fowler. The biggest challenge might be getting one of the corners (Joseph, Bland) to successfully replace Brown, a sentence I wouldn't have thought I'd be typing a few years ago. Obviously, there is some projection with all of those players, but I feel there's also a bunch of upside.

AND a championship offensive line if I do say so. Those two elements together make the foundations of a good team...This is definitely a championship defense in my opinion. And I’m really liking what’s happening with the offensive line
I'm afraid you may be right, although I'm hoping for the best. I'd hate to see Brown go too, but I'm liking what I've seen from the guys behind him. Crazy how deep this defense is when you look at it on paper, and on the field. If he keeps playing the way he has the last couple of weeks, I think he'll price himself out. But I expect him to be less noticeable when Kearse returns. Right now, he's playing the Kearse position, which as we saw last year puts that player all over the field to make plays. Wilson will go back to the more traditional safety role (now being split by Mukuamu and Bell) when Kearse comes back.
I think several in that group could be cheap re-signs, but Wilson and Brown might draw the most interest and pay.
The odd thing about this? 1974 was the only time in a 20 year span that Dallas missed the playoffs, finishing 8-6. The Cowboys went 1-2 in those first three games of '74.
Its Cooper rush that is making the defense play better.
