EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Tyler Patmon opened the season as the Dallas Cowboys' nickel cornerback and he is now inactive against the New York Giantsas the Cowboys play their sixth game.

Patmon did not play a snap in the Cowboys' loss to the New England Patriots, with Corey White taking over the nickel role.

Patmon has been credited with seven tackles and two pass breakups this season.

The Cowboys will dress eight defensive backs for the first time this season as a result. Defensive end David Irving is active as a result of Patmon being deactivated.

I'm kinda glad. Patmon isn't bad but I really wanted White on the field and he was getting no snaps the first few games. White was our best DB in the preseason and he has ideal size. I like having two big DBs back there.
